As all estate finds we suggest it be serviced and cleaned to keep this running for years ahead and to be sure all parts are still in specs. All watches have anti tamper sticker attached due to fraud. This watch is in a rare 3 piece case which is made of Silveroid or nickel.. Dial is a triple sunk model and about perfect. This is not a regular old Elgin but a piece of Ontario heritage. The case is in excellent condition except for a small ding on the edge of the back cover (see picture #8). The dial is nice but has a few hairline cracks. The watch keeps very good time. The only small problem with it is when you pull the crown, while turning the crown to set the time, sometimes it will skip but it is still possible to set it. The watch is 42 mm in diameter. Overall, a very nice watch. These vintage watches are not as accurate as quartz watches so they have not been tested and not guaranteed for long time accuracy. From what I found online this is a model 1, made in 1894. It is size 18s and 7J. I couldnt find any information online regarding the case. CASE AND MOVEMENT CONDITION: Glass (crystal) is in great shape with no cracks or chips. Few scuffs at most on glass and one hard to see internal impact. Winds and keeps time. The time can be changed. All hands are still on the clock. No key but accepts a standard pocket watch key. The porcelain face is in incredible condition. The inside rear cover has some dings.
