Dial has a filled area between 3 and 4, several hairlines. Case is Sterling hinged snap back and front. Hinge on back has some small cracks but lid snaps in place and holds. Watch is 16 size open face stem set 7 jewel seems to be running strong. Hands set, winds, etc. Has presentation inside from 1906.

The dial is marked Olivier Quartter av Rocle. It is in good condition with some wear to the case. The crystal is missing. The balance is good. It is a front open.

Elgin 18S 11J key wind grade 13 pocket watch #1618833, classic gilt full plate movement with a deeply engraved balance bridge and a brushed finish, single sunk (SS) porcelain enamel dial with Roman numerals, a black minute marker register on the outer edge and a black-marked subsidiary seconds register has some very small faint hairlines and a tiny flake at the edge of the dial at 3 o’clock, blue steel spade style hands, re-cased into a heavy smooth polish white base metal (WBM) hinge back & bezel (HB&B) case with offset gold recessed hinges, an extra large heavy bow and an extra thick glass crystal, case is showing normal even wear with a number of small spots of discoloration and a few very light scratches on the crystal, we can replace the crystal with a new beveled plastic crystal at no charge on request, measures approx. 57mm in diameter x 82mm in length x 20mm thick (crystal included). An impressive early Elgin from the 1880s in excellent overall condition! Any rulers shown for scale give measurements in centimeters (with millimeter gradients), NOT inches. Up for sale is a antique Hartford size 18 pocket watch with railroad motif, both on the powder blue face and the Silveroid case back. It has beautiful fancy gold tone hands and does have a few hairline cracks and little chip under the crystal in the face(look at pics). It does wind and run but but no guarantees past that, it does have an adjustment to slow down or speed up the movement. It is a lever set watch which means you have to unscrew the beveled crystal and pull out the lever and then adjust the hands with the crown. It has a a very nice steam locomotive etched in the Silveroid case back and one also depicted on the face. The movement is turned 90 degrees so when you pull it out to look, you don’t have to turn it up to view, which is done on some RR watchs.
