Another incredibly stunning original condition and complete all original E. Howard Series III pocket watch from 1865 in it’s original W & S heavy coin silver hunting case. The plain polish case has no dings or dents, with tight hinges that open to 90 degrees. Properly hallmarked “W & S” on outer covers. Beautifully and simply decorated the scroll work is still outstanding after 158 years. The unique hinged bezel is perfect, however the crystal is missing. Single sunk gorgeous original enamel dial is flawless save for a tiny edge chip about 12 o’clock and an almost imperceptible beginning of a craze at the edge of the six minute mark. It’s glossy and the script itself is astonishing. Purple steel hands are works of art and flawless. The 15 jewel Series III gilded movement is a sight to behold. It reads, “8264″ dating this watch to 1865. Howard packed an incredible amount of compensating technology into their earliest timepieces, and this appears to have an unmarked Mershon’s Patent center wheel rack regulator as well as the extra protection afforded to the mainspring barrel. Unfortunately the watch is over wound, however upon placing slight pressure on the mainspring the balance wheel springs to life. Regardless, a pocket watch of this uniqueness and rarity deserves a complete overhaul. This is an amazing timepiece!
This Tavannes Pocket Watch is a fine example of vintage craftsmanship from the early 1900s. With a yellow gold plated case and full hunter closure, the watch is a stunning piece of jewelry that will make a great addition to any collection. The mechanical (manual) movement ensures that the watch keeps accurate time, while the 12-hour dial and white dial color add to its elegant appearance. The pocket watch size is 1 3/8 inches and comes with its original case and rare ornate carry clasp. It has some blemishes on the watch that I did my best to show in the pictures. Everything else is in immaculate condition. This piece is a true gem for any watch enthusiast looking for a vintage pocket watch from one of the top watch companies of its time.

I’ve owned this for decades. I don’t know the actual value because I haven’t seen a similar one to compare.. Feel free to make an offer I. ! It keeps excellent time and runs over 38 hours before it needs rewinding.. (it gains less than 2 mins in 24 hours) my late watchmaker friend always serviced this one.. I don’t even know how to remove the back.. But please ask any questions.. I have never seen one with similar dial (no second hand dial)l or sunburnt silver. That’s why i bought this one I’m sure. Also have another unique omega railroad pocket watch that had.. I can take more, better pics if desired.. Its just a cool watch! See my feedback about honest descriptions.. I know its a solid silver case and hasn’t been cleaned in 20 years so its tarnished. But has been wound occasionally.. Please feel free to ask any questions or make any comments.. WWI ANTIQUE POCKET WATCH WITH BULLET HOLE! Unbelievable Rare Half Hunter Case. Once in a lifetime find. A pocket watch that was struck by a bullet. Imagine the history this piece has seen. One can only imagine if this pocket watch saved a life. Likely made in Switzerland in the early part of the 20th Century. The case measures 51.5 millimeters in diameter and is 14 millimeters thick. The movemen t measures 43 millimeters in diameter. Galonne is what the pink gold band around the watch is called, I assume plated. The open window in the half hunter case allows you to see the hands, but not the hour markers. For that reason, the case is numbered I-XII in Roman numerals, around the window, and the very edge is minute marked, in black enamel in the manner of damascene work. Each number is sandwiched between an ornately engraved flourish. The back of the case is exquisite repousse work with a large open cartouche. The 800 silver has darkened with age to look almost gunmetal against the coppery pink galonne and the black enamel. The crown is missing, and the dial is obviously in interesting condition to say the least. The center is yellowed from exposure, it’s cracked in many places, and it looks like it was shot. I have no idea if the movement is damaged from the impact. The watch does not work so it is for parts or restoration. The case is marked Galonne and 800 on the inside of the front cover and the inside of the back cover. It front cover also has a Crescent and Crown hallmark, which is German. Both front and back are also marked with a logo of intertwined letters, FHF or EHF, where the first F is backwards, the long verticals on the Fs makes up the sides of the H, and the cross mark of the H extends outward to make the horizontal cross over the Fs. I saw the same logo for Fabrique d’Horlogerie de Fontainemelon. The inside of the dust cover is only marked 800. There are also very small punch marks on the part of the case that encircles the movement, they look like little birds. Please review the photos for a complete description. Notes: The crown is missing, and the dial is obviously in interesting condition to say the least. For Restoration, Repair, or Parts. Jewelry, Watch / Timepiece. Hunter case pocket watch. Open face pocket watch.
