CIRCA 1921 RUNNING WALTHAM POCKET WATCH. Movement Serial Number:24041473. VERY UNIQUE NEAR FINE FANCY DIAL. RARE FAHYS MONARCH CASE NEAR MINT FACTORY TAG INTACT. All sources identity MONARCH Cases as being Gold Filled. I believe this case to be Nickel but have been unable to identify ir find another example. Research indicates FAHYS Watch Cases Co. Went out of business during the Great Depression. Best guess this case was manufacturered shortly before company closed doors permanently.. Regardless the case and dial compliment each other. Overall a beautiful watch, and a unique piece of 1920′s Americana and the shifting styles and attitudes as seen in Post WW1 America. Watch winds sets and runs, but has not been checked for accuracy…
This is a very nice Waltham pocket watch. It has a coin silver hunter case. It is in very good condition. The hands are original but one came loose and is there. There are no dents or problems, there are a couple of little dings. It is a key wind, doe not come with a key. It measures 2 1/4 across.
Case measures 47.5mm in diameter. The dial is in nice condition. Watch is running, but I don’t know it’s service history. Photos are our intellectual property. Broken Chronometer Running Pocket Watch Harman HXF 44mm Case 17j Vintage. The chronometer function is not working, the watch itself runs and keeps good time (I haven’t checked it for +/- accuracy but it keeps good time, at least over 24 hours the time isn’t noticeably off anyway). Case is 44mm wide. When the chronometer is started the sweep hand moves for about 5 seconds at most then stalls and ticks back and forth a tiny bit. After stopping the chronometer, the minute/sweep chronometer hands don’t usually return to 12 o’clock (and also I noticed many times when you start the chronometer the minute hand in the top dial advance suddenly to 4-5 o’clock position or other off position). You can get the hands to align if you start/stop/return the hands but they typically don’t align at 12 o’clock. Observing the movement I see that the seconds/sweep hand function is from the gear in the center of the movement (just to the left of the Harman Watch Co engraving). I think it is missing a jewel at that top post point (or missing whatever kept that top gear post in place). I had very carefully using a small plastic pointed tool gently guided that gear to stay as centered as possible and found that the chronometer sweep hand advanced, and it is clear that the gear is not secured at the top post. As far as the hands not returning to zero I don’t know what would cause that. The movement itself reminds me of how a wrist watch chronometer movement would appear. The stainless steel case has denting on the back. It snaps open/closed and is hinged, the snap feels like it’s wearing out (it stays closed but takes almost no effort to open). The front is snap off. Dial and hands look good. — See photos for condition details. — I don’t have a way to arrange for a local pick-up of this item, I’m sorry for the inconvenience.
This is an Aurora Watch Co. Hunter case pocket watch. The movement is 17 jewel. It is a size 18. It has a gold filled case. There is wear to the case. The Aurora Watch Co. Was only in business for a short time before being bought by Hamilton Watch Co.
Sets, winds and runs. Will need service to run correctly. Nice condition with some light wear on case and a few marks on the dial. Case back has engraving. See pictures for detailed condition.
Open face pocket watch. Winds up and ticking, lever set works properly. I set the time before bed and it was off by several hours this morning. When you wind it up, there is no stopping point. You can literally wind forever. Small crack in the dial as shown. Hard to judge the price, feel free to make offer.
This antique American Waltham Watch Co. Pocket watch is a stunning piece of history dating back to the 1880s. The watch features a silver case with a polished finish and a snap caseback. The dial is white with Roman numerals, and the watch has 17 jewels and a railroad grade style. This pocket watch is in running condition at the time of listing (with a few stops now and again), though it has been neither serviced nor cleaned, so continued working condition not guaranteed. It is a manual mechanical movement with a multi-dial and seconds hand feature. The watch is handmade with an open face design and is a must-have for any antique watch lover. Watch has some wear due to age and use. Porcelain dial has a hairline crack (hard to see). Marked’FAHYS COIN NO. See pictures for full description.
Waltham Chronograph 14s 1886 pocket watch in coin silver case running but a bit sluggish. Probably hasn’t been cleaned and oiled for some time. Dial is very nice no chips or cracks that I can see. Dust cover hing is broken but snaps on and off securely. Front cover operates properly with good spring action. I think crystal is plastic. Back cover closes as normal but takes very little to open. Stays closed when held back facing down.
