Illinois 18size, 4oz Sterling silver case Pocket Watch 1896 Fancy Enamel dial. Is in very good condition and running strong. 17 jewels lever set movement #1342528. Fancy porcelain dial with hearlines. Model 6, Grade Bunn. 925/1000 sterling silver case. Running strong keeping time. Very good with fine scratches, and few small dings on the side. [Mint] Item has never been used. Excellent Item is like new with very slight signs of use. Very Good Item have some minor signs of previous used but is in great condition without heavy scratches, wear or mechanical issues, may have some fine surface scratches. Good Item has slight surface scratches or slight wear, but looks great. Fair Item shows scratches or weir that is visible. Poor Item is not in perfect working order or damaged. For Parts or Repairs Item cannot be used as-is. Repair needed or used as parts.

This has to be my favorite 24J Bunn I have owned. Watch is in excellent condition thorughout. Running strong and keeping great time. Case is crisp with sharp and pronounced engravings. The large crown makes winding a pleasure. The dial is free of hairline cracks. A few scratches and a little chip by where the seconds hand mount (these inclusions I can only see with magnification). If you are purchasing a watch band or part, it is your responsibility to ensure that the sizing is correct for your watch. 1923 Illinois Burlington 16S 21J 107 Railroad Grade Montgomery Dial Train Case. This watch will look better in your hand than it does in the pics. Officially listed in it’s day as’Limited Railroad Grade’, this classification apparently meant it was approved in some states, but not others. This one appears to be all original, though it’s hard to tell, as they were often cased and re-cased through multiple servicing. This one in cased in a rugged,’Emperor’ Star Watch Case Co. Railroad case and looks quite good. The movement is fairly described as’crisp’… It’s signed’Burlington Watch Co. Chicago”Adjusted to Temperature and Positions”Double Roller’ and 21 Jewels’. Serial number is’4188617′, dating it to approx. Screw set jewels and micrometric regulator are some of the finer features. There is some plate ware to the case and normal surface scratches and a small ding or 2, but generally the case is in good shape, with smooth thread on the front bezel allowing easy access to the lever set mechanism. This watch keeps good time, as expected, and winds, sets and runs strong, though I have no idea when it was last serviced. The double sunk porcelain dial has a sub second hand at 6 o’clock and is signed’Burlington’. The dial is in good shape, with only a couple of minor hairline cracks, but no chips and the hands appear original and crisp. It features large Arabic indices and the very desirable Montgomery detailed indices around the perimeter. I’m offering this watch at a BIN price below market, as well as opening it to offers. This is very attractive example of a classic American railroad timepiece… A fine addition to any collect, or a great regular user…. You won’t be disappointed!

Based on my research that dates the watch to c1887 – Watch has a second hand and Roman numerals on the face – Rear of case has a floral design, no monogram – Interior lid of the case is marked A. W Co, O’Hara patents, COIN (I tested the case and it’s Coin Silver) and numbers 67191. Numerous number and initials lightly scratched into the interior lid – Interior case between outer cover and movement marked 2, 67191, A – Movement markings – 877132, I. Patent Pinion, Numbers in case outer rim 67191 Physical Size: Width 2 across. Condition: – Running, Good Physical Overall Used Condition. Again, I have minimal knowledge of pocket watches so my condition report will simply be what I see. The Watch crystal (outer covering over the dial) displays scratching, nicking and general wear. It is rather thick. The exterior case displays scratching, denting / dings, tarnish and the decoration shows wear. All sections of the Coin Silver Case display the same scratching and tarnish. The movement area (what shows) appears to be clean with some visible scratching. The case closes snugly. The pictures to view the condition of the items for yourself.
