This watch will look better in your hand than it does in the pics. A solid example of an early 14 sized American pocket watch in all original condition and running strong. This watch is cased in it’s original, quality Nickel/Silver case (unsigned) identified by it’s unique large pin set, screw on back and snap-on front bezel. Case wear is low for the age with minor, normal surface scratches and marks, but general appearance is well above average. Case diameter is large for a 14 size at approx. The watch winds, sets and runs strong and is keeping good time, as it has been recently serviced. The visually clean, full plate gilt movement appears all original. It’s signed’A. Waltham Mass”Bond St.’Safety Pinion’ and serial number’2961283′, dating it to approx. The Roman Numeral indices, porcelain dial has a sub second hand at 6 o’clock and is signed’A. W. Co’, which is correct for this movement and is hand painted. It is in excellent shape, with one barely visible hairline crack, but no chips. The beveled, bowed glass crystal is HUGE and in equally clean, original condition. This is a very solid watch and running strong…. Not much is know about this Watch other than what is shown through research. Waltham Model 1894 – 12S – 7J – Estumated to be manufactured in 1917. Watch does wind, but will NOT tick! Crystal dial is gone and been replaced with a plastic cover to at least protect it. Moment Serial #: 21130751. Case is an Illonois Watch Co. Case with Serial #: 5810277. One of the more decorative Illonois Watch Co. From what I’ve found, the case is estimated to be manufactured around 1885 based off the serial. Please message with any additional questions!
