For sale is an antique 18-size hunting case pocket watch featuring a Grade 74 movement from the. This timepiece is a “Private Label” edition produced for the retailer. And remains in its original, factory-matched silver housing. Technical Status: Please see video of watch running. It is over 130 year old so a cleaning and oiling would be suggested to keep it in functional condition. Crescent Watch Case Co. Hunting Case (Front & Back Covers). All case serial numbers match. On the front lid, back lid, and inner dust cover (cuvette). Hinges are tight and the case closes securely. The exterior features original engine-turning and an unmonogrammed central shield. Running but has been sitting for many years. There is a chip near the sub-second hand at 6 o’clock and a hairline crack near the 10 o’clock position. The crystal is present but loose and needs to be reseated. Please review all high-resolution photos and the included video for exact mechanical and cosmetic condition.

Marked “Illinois Watch Case Co, Spartan”. “Spartan” was a specific trade brand introduced between the late 1920′s and early 1930′s. Antique internal movement, a John M. Smyth Co Special, 17-jewel American movement. Features intricate damaskeening (decorative pattern on the plates) and is adjusted. Produced in Chicago, IL. It uses the highly regarded Illinois “Getty” model movement structure. Engraved with “Adjusted”, signifying it was precisely calibrated at the factory to account for variations in environment factors like temperature or operational positions.

This watch is in good condition. We wound the spring just enough to make it run and watched for a few minutes. It seemed to run fine. This is all the testing we have done for this watch. Crystal nice and face appears to have no cracks. Please refer to the photos for more details.

16s Rockford 17 jewel watch in a 20 year B&B hunting case. Watch starts right up and runs. Clean shape all around. Case hinges are fine and lift spring works properly with covers closing tight. No wear thru that i can see. The crystal is missing but the bezel is there. The movement runs fine but the micro regulator is missing.
