Vintage Seth Thomas Pocket Watch Illinois Sterling Silver Case READ! This watch does run. The main issue is that the back of the watch is extremely difficult to remove and for that matter attach. I did get it off for the photos but wasn’t able to take it back off again once I replaced it and didn’t want to force it. The front does screw on and off without too much difficulty. The case is in excellent condition except for a small ding on the edge of the back cover (see picture #8). The dial is nice but has a few hairline cracks. The watch keeps very good time. The only small problem with it is when you pull the crown, while turning the crown to set the time, sometimes it will skip but it is still possible to set it. The watch is 42 mm in diameter. Overall, a very nice watch. These vintage watches are not as accurate as quartz watches so they have not been tested and not guaranteed for long time accuracy.
