This is an extremely nice antique French Napoleon III wooden pocket watch case, or coffin. Great condition, no issues! The inlaid insert in the front is shell, some sort of mother of pearl. The wood is mostly if not all mahogany, including the stunning mahogany burl top. The box measures 4 1/8″ x 3 5/16″ x 1 1/4.

Case size (measurements not including bow or crown): 44.1mm in diameter. Notes/Condition: As you can tell this is a very clean pocket watch case. With an engraving that enhances the value. The service history of this watch is unknown to me unless I state otherwise. Therefore you should expect to service this watch if you are a responsible collector. Often times these watches have been forgotten in a jewelers desk or in a back room for 30 plus years. I like to save them from that demise and get them back into the hands of collectors. It doesn’t take very long for old gummy oil to stop a movement from running (many times just a week or so) or even worse if the oil is dried out it might not take too long for the watch to grind itself up inside so please understand I can only tell you how the watch is performing here.
