The signed ” WALTHAM ” snow white fine porcelain dial is mint with black enamel Roman numerals and seconds sweep at the bottom marked out in 10 second intervals. Blue steel spade pointers finish off the pristine fine porcelian dial. This is your chance to own an exceptional Victorian stem wind & set 14K solid gold Waltham hunter cased pocket watch in about mint condition. The only thing keeping it from mint is some very light age staining inside the front cover. This beautiful antique timepiece has a case diameter of 39mm and weighs a substantial 47.9 grams, about half of which is 14K gold. I mention the gold content for a base value only. I would never destroy a beautiful antique gold pocket watch for the gold content. It is my hope that this watch ends up in the hands of an ardent collector for many years of enjoyment and appreciation! This gorgeous antique Waltham remains in about the same condition as when it was first made, all original with no dings, dents, scratches or repairs. The 14K gold front cover pops open smartly to exactly 90 degrees when the stem is depressed. All other richly engraved 14K gold covers also open to exactly 90 degrees and all covers snap tightly shut. The wind is silky smooth and it keeps excellent time. Note the incredible hand chased decorations on this superb example. Each cover features extravagant florals and scrolls over an engine turned ground that show no wear after 117 years of use! The rear cover also showcases a castle & tower scene by a river with hills and trees at it’s center. The extra thick 14K gold case edge has intricate scroll engravings, all done meticulously by hand. Beautiful antique c1894 Elgin pocket watch in a fine Brooklyn Watch Case Co. Solid 14K hunter case with all over hand engraving. The watch was worn on a 14K gold rope chain by previous owner. The case reads WARRANTEED – 14K – U. The watch case is not monogramed with prior owners initials. The works serial number is “5721095″. 1 5/8″ in diameter and the face just under 1 3/8″ in diameter, the chain is 30 long. The watch and chain weigh 67.5 grams. The case is in very, very good condition with only minor wear from use and polishing, the watch ticks but will stop after a few seconds, it is not overwound but need to be looked at to run. 16 size 21 jewel Adjusted 5 Positions railroad grade 655 Rockford Wind Indicator. When I put this one away years ago it had been cleaned and serviced, but nothing has been done to it for years. I wound it up a few turns and it started running with good motion. The indicator parts function properly. Note: I did not wind it up fully or check it for timeliness. In general, it’s a bad idea to run a Rockford indicator fully wind or very often since when the mainspring breaks (and they do) some of the indicator parts get broken with it. Sharp mvt with correct matching winding wheels. Super nice looking J. Boss 14K Gold-Filled case. Rare personalized dial is signed N. Was he a jeweler? I don’t know. The dial does have some cracking/hairlines (see near 11 o’clock, there is also a hairline that runs from the indicator bit towards 3 o’clock). This is the only personalized Rockford indicator dial that I’ve ever seen. If you’ve seen many others, then more power to you.
