Pocket Watch Case

This product is a vintage 1903 Elgin 18 size pocket watch with 7 jewels, housed in a heavy nickel swing-out case. The open face closure features Roman numerals on a white dial, with a lever escapement type and a mechanical manual movement. Elgin 18S 11J key wind grade 13 pocket watch #1618833, classic gilt full plate movement with a deeply engraved balance bridge and a brushed finish, single sunk (SS) porcelain enamel dial with Roman numerals, a black minute marker register on the outer edge and a black-marked subsidiary seconds register has some very small faint hairlines and a tiny flake at the edge of the dial at 3 o’clock, blue steel spade style hands, re-cased into a heavy smooth polish white base metal (WBM) hinge back & bezel (HB&B) case with offset gold recessed hinges, an extra large heavy bow and an extra thick glass crystal, case is showing normal even wear with a number of small spots of discoloration and a few very light scratches on the crystal, we can replace the crystal with a new beveled plastic crystal at no charge on request, measures approx. 57mm in diameter x 82mm in length x 20mm thick (crystal included). An impressive early Elgin from the 1880s in excellent overall condition! Any rulers shown for scale give measurements in centimeters (with millimeter gradients), NOT inches. Illinois 18S 11J key wind Columbia pocket watch #420964, handsome gilt full plate movement with a brushed finish and a floral engraved balance bridge, unmarked porcelain enamel dial with Roman numerals and a black-marked subsidiary seconds register has some faint hairlines, fancy purple steel spade & whip style hands, heavy smooth polish white base metal (WBM) hinge back & bezel (HB&B) case with offset gold hinges, a large heavy bow and an extra thick glass crystal, case has likely only held this watch however the material & style are inconsistent with the manufacture date and it is likely a replacement, case is showing light even wear with a few small spots of discoloration, some brass showing on one of the hinges and a small set of flakes on the crystal’s lower edge near the front case lip, measures approx. 57mm in diameter x 82mm in length x 23mm thick (crystal included). Hello look at the pictures closely they will show you that this watch case was patented in 1884. The company that made it is Fahey’s known for their pocket watch cases. This case is made out of coin silver which is 90% pure silver. Firm asking price not accepting offers.

Hello and welcome to another of my listings. Today for your consideration is this. 1879 HAMPDEN SPRINGFIELD, key wind pocket watch with very heavy coin silver case (is marked as 4 oz case). Winding key not included. Sometimes is working for few minutes and sometime for more than 1 hour. Case with discoloration, dings, some wear and scratches. Nice and thick glass crystal.
