1851 Silver Pair Cased Verge Fusee Pocket Watch Geo Gunn Ewhurst Working. Antique Circa 1851 big chunky silver pair cased Verge fusee pocket watch in good working order. The dial is white enamel with hand painted decorated black Roman numerals and gold-coloured hands. The movement is a chain driven fusee with verge escapement Fire gilt plates with round pillars decorated cock over a plain steel balance with regulator. It has a good swinging balance and chain running the full length of its chain keeping fair to good verge time. The movement is marked Geo Gunn Ewhurst and the number 29319. The watch case and its pair case are marked to the inside with London silver hallmarks for 1851 and the makers mark JB WW. It is key wind and set. The dial and bull-eye dial glass are clean and clear and free from any chips or cracks apart from a little scratching to the dial glass and a faint hairline to its dial. Both cases are clean and bright and have worn as to their age with all the covers closing nice and tight. The watch measures 49mm excluding crown and its pair case 56mm. Be sure to add me to your. An exellent copy of a Georgian Verge Fusee Pocket Watch Silver Pair Case Outer Button in SOLID SILVER. Size is 4 mm outer maximum size of the button, and 3 mm height. Ollow in the centre as shown. A good example of an Antique, George III, English Silver Pair Cased Pocket Watch with a Verge Fusee movement by JS Woolmer, Reepham. Reepham is a market town in Norfolk, England. The watch has the movement signed by the maker “JS Woolmer, Reepham” and has the serial number 56113. It is in working order. The case hallmarked with the maker’s mark “JH”, the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Leopard’s London town mark and date letter “k” for 1825/26. The outer case has a number of old watchmaker’s papers inside. The dial is in good condition but does have a few faint hairlines as can be seen. The watch measures 57mm in diameter (across the case). A beautiful mid 18th century silver Verge pocket watch hallmarked for London 1745. The watch was made during the reign of King George II in the same year as the Jacobite rebellion of 1745. The outer case is in good condition with no major dents and is engraved with the Initials’J. R’ encircled with an ear of maize, however it doesn’t snap shut as it should. The inner case is in good condition and snaps shut just fine. It is also engraved with The name’J. Rogers’ which matches the initials on the outer case. It is hallmarked for London in 1745. The movement itself was made by’J. Josephson’ and is beautifully engraved as well as having a unique White Porcelain dial with the name’Thomas, Minerds’ painted on it in place of numerals. I have examined and cleaned the watch and found it requires a new Balance spring in order for it to run however this is a cheap and easy fix. The watch weighs 82.68 grammes (2.91 Ounces) and the outer case measures 4.7 centimetres (1.85 inches) in circumference excluding the Bow and stem.
