WALTHAM 18s MODEL 1857 “HOME” POCKET WATCH – NICE COIN CASE WANTS TO RUN! PLEASE CONTACT ME IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH YOUR ORDER!!!!!!!!! For your consideration we have Waltham 18 size, “HOME” key wind and set, pocket watch that wants to run, but is not running. The balance staff looks to be good. The dial has very, very light hairlines. The hands look very nice. The crystal is not the proper crystal but it works fine. It is housed in a very nice W. The case is heavy and has a horse engraving on one side and a very small design on the other side. It has the usual wear, with some scratches and dings, but is still considered to be in very good condition for it’s age. The push button to open the case has flattened out over time, which is common in these silver cases. The button is silver too. The case lift spring is missing. The serial number is 317211 which dates the watch to circa 1867; just post Civil War era. A key is included but not pictured. Please refer to pictures for more information. Offered is a 16s Rockford pocket watch made for a jeweler in Sandusky, OH. The Fahy’s permanent gold filled case shows only a small amount of brass on the bow and crown, and a tiny line on the edge of the front cover. Cover opens to just slightly past 90 degrees. The (probably solid gold) bow is tight. Double sunk dial has no damage, hands are blue and original. The 17 jewel adjusted movement is free of scratches or corrosion, but the regulator whip spring is broken. Watch runs but stops after some time, needs cleaned.
