Up for sale is a lot of 1 1 Pocket Watches. These watches are old and will need cleaned , serviced , and some repairs are to be expected. Im including a brief description of each , if you have any questions about a particular watch please ask and i will try to answer to the best of my abilities. All of the watches do run , t h e y may need a slight shake to help get t h e m started after being wound. But they d o all seem to keep running for a l o n g period o nce started. Silver pocket watch, pair cases, verge – Henry Perry, London, c1700. Silver pair cases, 54mm. A fine, early London verge. MOVEMENT : Gilt verge movement, the engraved and pierced winged balance cock with wide D shaped foot. Four crested Egyptian pillars, silver regulator disk and blued screws. Running well, and in good condition throughout except for one of the pillars which is missing the top section. Fortunately this damage does not effect the running of the watch. Signed HEN PERRY, St. ANNs, SOHO, LONDON and numbered (319). DIAL : Silver champleve dial, in good condition. Signed PERRY, LONDON on the central disc. There is just one small hole on the left hand edge of this central disc. Good early 18th century steel beetle and poker hands. INNER CASE : Silver, with no hallmarks, but makers mark CW and movement serial number (319). In very good condition throughout. The hinge is fine and the bezel snaps shut correctly. The high dome crystal is fine. OUTER CASE : Silver pair case, with matching marks to the inner. The hinge, catch button and catch are fine and the case closes correctly. There is an old (and small) repair to the centre of the back which obscures the last digit of the serial number. Henry Parry is listed in Soho, London from 1691, and in the Clockmakers Company until 1721. The case maker is either Cuthbert Weaver or Clay Whitton. The dial is in a perfect condition has the beautiful original gold. Tone poker and beetle hands, the crystal glass is also in a near. Close perfectly, hallmarked for the city London, year letter L. What stands for the year 1806. This is really a very impressive heavy watch, measures. Across 81mm, including bow 92mm. Thick 38mm, weight 298 grams. George Prior was a watchmaker from 1765 through 1812, his son. Edward Prior was a watchmaker from 1800 through 1868. Four crested tulip pillars and silver regulator disk. In good condition and working. DIAL : Silver champleve dial, in very good condition. Signed Mason, London on the central disc. Good early 18th century steel beetle and poker hands. INNER CASE : Silver, with no hallmarks. In reasonable condition, with a few light bruises. The pendant has been reattached and heavily reinforced around the neck. The bow is a replacement. There is a small hole in the back , near the winding aperture, where there would have originally been a small sliding cover to this aperture. The hinge and the high dome crystal are fine and the bezel closes but does not snap shut. OUTER CASE : Silver pair case. Again with no hallmarks. The hinge and catch are fine and the case closes correctly. The catch button has been filled with a gemstone diamond? This watch is probably by Charles Mason, recorded in London from 1687, apprenticed to Michael Bird.
