A MINT and very interesting and most important HIGH GRADE GOLD (18 CT OR OVER) enamel back, with diamonds. Quarter repeater on a bell. ISAASON ET FILS GENEVA. A WATCH JUST LIKE THIS IS IN THE V AND A MUSEUM IN LONDON. PLEASE DO TAKE TIME TO READ THE FULL LISTING AND DO ENLARGE THE PHOTOGRAPHS TO GET A BETTER LOOK. The size of the mint outer protection case is 42 m. M the glass is clean and clear, all the pins are in place. The weight of the watch is 74 grams. The back of the watch has perfect enamel surrounded with diamonds and garnets in the middle in high relief flowers with a great deal of detail.. All the hinges and clips work well on the cases. The enamel dial in mint condition with the makers name. Very fine original filigree hands. The glass is high clean and clear. This is a quarter repeater it will ring the hours and the quarter hours with a very nice clear sound on a bell. The fire gilt movement look just like the day it left the work shop. And signed on the back plate ISAASON ET FILS the watch runs well. Time keeping C + or -3 -4 minuets per hour. The watch will come with a key. Just great to have such an amazing and interesting watch that is as good as this one, and it just has every thing one could want on a fine verge watch, very hard to find a watch in this condition with all that it has going for it. This watch is so very well priced, and well presented. An absolute must for any serious collector or would make a wonderful present. Up for sale, is a near mint and very rare French gilt verge fusee antique enamel back scene, and white gem set case pocket watch, circa 1790. Made by an eminent French watchmaker. The watch has just been cleaned and serviced and the movement is in perfect working condition. It runs to the end of the chain very smoothly and keeps very good time. It is a rare and lovely gilt case pocket watch with an original unrestored and 100% genuine enamel mint scene on the back side. The case has white set gems, both in the front bezel and to the back side. The watch is 45 mm wide, and weighs 81 gr’. It is late 18. Century French verge, in a gilt, and enamel consular case. The back of the case is decorated in lovely enamel colours depicting a country scene of two beautiful figures in the woods. Full plate fire gilt fusee movement. Finely pierced and engraved cock. Plain three arm gilt balance wheel with blue steel spiral hairspring. Signed white enamel dial with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes. BEAUTIFUL shaped gilt ornamented hands. I would think that the minute hand is not original and has been replaced. The dial is in very good condition except for a professionally restored small part around the key winding aperture. The dial is also signed : Berthoud , Paris. Was French watch maker who came from a very large French family of watchmakers which one of them is the very famous watchmaker Ferdidand Berthoud , who moved to Paris and became a watchmaker and a clockmaker to the king. I do not think that this specific watch was made by Ferdidand Berthoud but rather then one of his great members of his great watchmakers family. This is a very rare and spectacular pocket watch that is very hard to find.
