This is an Very Nice Elgin Hunter Pocket Watch. Model 2, Grade 117. Size 6 and 7 Jewels. White Dial with Luminous hands. Roman numeral markers and secondhand chrono at the 6 o’clock position. Movement marked Elgin Natl. Watch has the Hunter case with the dust cover on the back. Case has a unique Hallmark and B. The watch measures 2 1/4″ Long with Crown and 1 5/8″ long without. The weight of this piece is 51.9 Grams. Watch is not marked 14K but the watch has been. X-rayed by an XRF Gold Analyzer to determine the Gold Content. Watch is in Great Working Condition. Private label: J. O. R. McCrady, Belleville Ontario (signed on dial & movement) This is a Swiss made Caliber 19”’. Serial #1959590 (circa 1900). Watch is currently ticking, but can’t set time: has an issue with the STEM that’s coming out. The “setting screw” is either broken in the plate, or something inside is wrong. Please note this case no sleeve inside; this is the original OMEGA long stem which is usually held by the screw (like a wristwatch). Mainspring & balance staff are OK though, as the balance wheel has a pretty nice swing. The 44.6mm porcelain DIAL has an old repair at 57 minutes, to hide a major chip. The beveled glass crystal has few normal scratches but still very acceptable. The “Premier” gold filled case is in good condition, no excessive wear or brassing. 56 mm wide x 70 mm tall x 18 mm thick; weighs 122 grams. PLEASE CHECK MY PHOTOS CAREFULLY. The inside of the case is marked 0.900, and serial numbered 22351, but it lacks the SKS mark, which an original Seiko watch would have had. The movement of the watch is marked 22 58. We are not certain what these numbers mean. The case is a 0.900 silver case with golden inlays that appears to have some sort of signature or makers mark on it. (look at the bottom of the tenth picture for the signature). The watch case originally opened on the front from the top and had a bottom hinge, but the pin is broken on the hinge. The movement flips out of the back properly as shown. We have wound the watch up, set the time, and it ran for a few hours, but it did not keep accurate time. The dial appears to be hairline free, and hands appear to be in great condition. The watch has evidence of age and wear that you see in the pictures.
