Very attractive Repousse case, higher grade Hamilton 974 antique 17 Jewel adjusted pocket watch. Early Serial number 722878, circa 1908 making this watch over 115 years old. Watch has a hard to find Hamilton private label dial wallen Camden New Jersey. Dial does have a hairline. Watch runs some but sluggish, but has a good balance. Watch is pendants at and winds and sets correctly, but stem needs pushed down to wind. Case is a rare and beautiful silver or nickel silver Repousse case. Case is screwback and bezel case in nice condition but does have some wear. I have not seen another case like this and has a very interesting and attractive looking pocket watch case. Estate Antique Private Label Gold Filled Hunting Case Pendant Watch C3988. Here is a private label, Betsy Ross Jewelers, pendant watch from the turn of the century around 1900. They had a jewelry store in St. At the time, a merchant could have watches identified with their names. These watches were produced by Illinois, Elgin, Hampden and others for businesses around the country. This particular watchcase is a 20-year gold filled model that is 35mm (1 1/4 diameter). The watch movement is 28mm or a 3/0 US size. Condition wise, the watch case in in excellent condition. It has beautiful Art Nouveau design engraved on each side. All 3 hinged opening are tight and open at 45 degrees, which implies that this watch was barely used. The front crystal is missing. The front cover does not stay closed. The balance wheel needs balanced and only moves if it’s pushed with a small tool. The watch winds continuously and DOES NOT RUN. This vintage Longines pocket watch features a full hunter closure, Arabic numeral indices, and a mechanical automatic movement with 15 jewels. This is an “American Star” 21 jewel pocket watch that was made by Hampden. It is an 18 size lever set watch. The dial and movement are marked N. The watch was just serviced and it runs strong in all positions. Keeps time to within a minute a day. It was disassembled, ultrasonically cleaned, oiled and reassembled. It did not get a new mainspring. The movement is rust free. The porcelain dial had a huge chip at the top, which has been touched up. The case was a Keystone Watch Case Co silveroid case and the back has been replaced with another bezel from an identical case. Good glass crystals on front and back. Both bezels screw on and off easily with no cross threading. Bow stays in place. The dial will be hard to replace unless you just want to replace it with a Hampden dial? 16 size 21 jewel hunting case pendant-set Grade 961 pocket watch movement/dial/hands. Movement and dial are private label signed for A. Bloedel of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Movement is a beautifully finished bridge model with gold jewel settings, gold balance screws, gold train wheels, and a striped pattern nickel damaskeen. Dial is double-sunk enamel with Arabic hour numerals. Movement requires a detent style stem for its winding and setting mechanism and comes with one as pictured, and movement will require an appropriate case for this stem type. Movement serial number is 51925. Running and a nice looking movement overall cosmetically with good color and luster. One case screw is missing. Dial faces up well but has a patched edge chip at 21 minutes, some scattered outer chapter hairlines, and some flaking at the center of its seconds-register. Movement appears original to this case. One Hour Timing Test showed no timing error, 0 seconds. One Hour Timing Test showed an error in timing, 10 Seconds slow. Watch continued running in all positions: Dial Up, Pendent Right, Pendent Left, Dial Down, Pendent Down. Full wind duration test shows watch ran hours.
Superb mint looking Longines heavy gold filled hunting case with pretty patters, made in 1890′s. The watch runs strong and keeps good time. Due to the existent gold weight in these massive watches (at least 10 % of their weight) , they can’t no longer be cheap as they were once. The cost of gold has tripled in the last 10 years.
Time Pieces, Parts & More. 1903 Illinois Grade 183 Hunter Case 16S 15 Jewels Private Label Pocket Watch. This is a nice example of an Illinois Grade 183 with private label dial from A. Walker of Cleveland, Ohio. Watch is in excellent shape for its age. Running strong and keeping good time. Original double sunk dial is in excellent shape. Very clean fancy hunter case. Front and back hinges open to 90 degrees. Case lid spring is in shape and lid opens as it should. Initials are engraved on the front.
