21 jewels Railroad Chronometer 16 size stem wind & lever set pocket watch in fine original looking and running condition. The movement was professionally serviced recently, runs strong and keeps accurate time. Serial number on the Series 11 high grade movement is 1260089 which dates it to circa 1915; has 21 ruby jewels, adjusted to temperature & 5 positions, has a double roller, safety pinion and a micrometric regulator. The set lever is near the 1:00 position; pull the lever up to set the time with the crown. The original porcelain enameled dial with bold numbers appears flawless. The deep blued steel hands are in fine condition. The original Howard yellow gold filled swing-out case is in extra fine condition with very light pocket wear and is original to the movement, has no brassing, monograms or engravings. (To view the movement, the crown must be pulled in the up position before swinging out the movement). The watch measures approximately 2-1/16 inches in diameter (not including the crown & bow) x 5/8 inch thick including the new old stock G-S acrylic crystal. The original bow and crown are in fine condition with light wear from use. Included with your watch is a heavy antique gold plated brass chain with a gold plated pocket clasp, measures approximately 13-1/4 inches long overall. This is a fine example of an original Howard Railroad Chronometer, a great timepiece for your collection & use, also makes a real nice gift! My pictures have many shadows & reflections and dust spots that will be cleaned, the watch looks much better in person! Howard 19 Jewel Swing-out PocketWatch GF Case Serial # 999882 e080. This Railroad Approved E. Howard 19 Jewel pocket watch is in excellent running condition. Winds, sets, and runs with ease. Face has a sunken seconds bit, the classic black numerals. And is marked with the word “Howard”. It has a great dial with 1 small almost invisible hairline crack near the 12. The hands, including the seconds hand, are a gun-metal blue color. The bezel is outlined with attractive smooth gold design. The bow is tight. This watch movement has beautiful damaskeening and is a size 16. It is marked “19 Jewels” and “Adjusted”, with the serial number, 999882, which was made approximately in 1908. The movement is also signed E. The watch winds by the stem and the time is changed by the same. The front bezel, the back case and the back sub-case all are hinged and swing out. Beautiful back case is gold filled and made by C. The inside movement cover is marked E. Boston” on the exterior and “Warranted Crescent 25 Years with the same 1925074 serial number. There are some service marks near the Hallmark on the inside cover. For the last several years, the watches I have currently were serviced by a Jeweler in Bolivar Mo. And has been kept in very good condition. This would make a very nice pocket watch for your collection. His building was just off 24 Highway in an out of place blue and white striped metal building. It was close to the flourishing, but now gone, Van Briggle’s pottery shop and the “Ghost town” tourist spot. Upon entering the doors, the strange blending aroma of older wood and mechanical parts greeted the nostrils in the same manner as the methodical ticking greeted the ears. As one would walk down the hallway to the main open room, the heartbeat of the building grew more intense. Upon turning the last corner of the walkway to finally meet the source of the sound, the sight was incredible with motion and movement as hundreds of clocks were still telling their story of an era quickly passing in time…. It was that love of the creativity and ingenuity of our American inventors and their products that got me started in collecting and sharing antiques, vintage watches, and marvelous clocks.
