Very Rare, 1905, Hampden, 16 size, “Electric Railway Standard”, Open Face, 17 Jewel Pocket Watch. The movement it’s self is a Grade 107 [NAWCC-149 Data Base has only 830 of this variation made]. Running strong but not checked for accuracy. The Case is a Keystone Watch Case Co. 10K, Gold Filled, Screw Back & Bezel case, w/ a new crystal. The pictures of the movement might give one to believe that there is some rust on the Regulator Arm but this is only light reflection & the Arm & Movement are quite clean. The Dueber-Hampden Watch Co. Seems to have’toyed’ with the idea of entering the Streetcar & Interurban electric railway market but gave up on the idea, hence very few of these variants were made. This is a nice mans 16 size watch from a local estate. It is open face, stem wind, lever set, 11 jewels, Illinois, serial #1678353 (Circa 1903). The movement is very good and runs. It has not been cleaned or serviced. So, I cannot guarantee it to be reliable. The porcelain dial has some fine hairlines. The case is yellow gold filled, made by the Star Watch Case Co. The case has nice designs, and they are clear. The case is not dented or damaged. A nice case for this movement, or use it for another one. It has a glass crystal. Not much to research , but I did find a 1867 with the serial number of 351, xxx , so I’m guessing this to be around 1870 to 1880. Smooth running, the case is very nice , the crystal has some lite scratches, but the dial looks not to be cracked, and in decent condition. This is a gorgeous, timeless American Waltham pocket watch. The gold filled hunter case is ornately engraved, The pattern is the same on front and back with the exception of a blank oval for monogramming. This case has not been monogrammed. The full Hunter Case is finely detailed & engraved. It is a J. Boss Keystone yellow gold filled case. The case is Serial Number 6493174. The frame has matching number 3174. It also has a fantastic double mill grain beaded edge. The closure mechanism works perfectly and all flaps close and fit tightly. This fabulous timepiece weighs 39.5 grams.
