Lincoln Grade 16 Size 21 Jewels. Finely Accurate Timekeeping see Testing. Lincoln grade watch was price positioned to be slightly less costly than the Bunn Special about 9% less. Materials like ruby and sapphire jewels, gold train and balance jewel screws were the same as the Bunn but the movement was less elaborately decorated and the Bunn was advertised to have “Extra Quality Jewels”. Approximately 13,260 A. Lincoln grade watches were produced. The case is a Keystone gold filled warranted for 10 years in very good condition, no brassing or abuse. The case appears to be original to the movement and not a replacement. Lids screw on & off correctly. Crystal is scratch free. The gold train & jewel setting movement is clean with No discoloration and very minor service marks. The engine turning decoration pattern is all intact. Black letter filling is all there with very minor imperfections. All setting and winding functions work positively and correctly. Dial has a hairline and a minor chip at 5 o’clock. The watch was observed running for 24 hours in the dial and stem up positions. The watch lost 4 seconds during the 24 hour hours. Further regulation of the watch I’m sure would improve it’s accuracy even more. I have no history of the watch and assume that it’s due for professional serving and adjustments. Please contact me with any questions and Thank You! So, please don’t get mad or excited when you don’t receive your package quickly. The item “Finely Accurate Illinois 21j 16s Railroad Approved, A. Side winding Elgins and Walthams are not un-common… This watch came to me from a collector who had previously fitted two other movements because he thought this movement was wrong despite the hand setting lever aligning perfectly and the small case locating peg on the edge of the movement at the Roman numeral eleven also aligning perfectly and slotting into the hole in the case.. Luckily he kept the original movement. Fully serviced with a new “Elgin” main-spring and keeping very accurate time. Not the brightest of plates but this Elgin 11 jewel “work-horse” movement is mechanically perfect. Electronically timed and tested, gains 10 seconds a day face up… Loses 2 seconds a day face down with the regulator arm being dead center on the timing index plate. Under-sprung cut bi-metal balance wheel with timing screws. Winds smoothly, open the front lid and fully pull the hand setting lever out to set the time via the winding button. A “Bay State” imperial coin silver case.. Tiny ding on the bezel near the hinge and an even smaller one on the back lid in the area of the blank cartouche. Coin edges are still very sharp. Nice floral pattern on the back lid. All closures and hinges are excellent. Clear real mineral flat bevel edged crystal. Presentation inscription on the inner dust cover lid for 1894. Lovely blued steel original hands… Fancy second hand is not original but a good tight fit and perfect in size….. A large watch at 53 m. In diameter excluding pendant and bow. Weighs in at 138 grams. Please study the photographs as they are integral to the cosmetic condition of my items. I will only pay the return costs on mis-described items. I can post to the U. These are “near-enough” actual post-office costs.. The item “Stunning 1887 Elgin side-wind mans silver pocket watch, ornate case, accurate” is in sale since Monday, August 5, 2019.
