Elgin 16 size Father Time pocket watch that was made in 1920. 21 jewels adjusted to 5 positions. Custom gold filled display case. Runs great and keeps time to within a minute a day. The bezels screw on and off easily. It is not a factory display case, it was made using an original Majestic 5 year gold filled case and the back has been machined to accept a crystal. The case was in good condition with no wear on the main body and just a little wear on the stem. The case had some dings in the back where someone had tried to smooth out a dent, I decided to turn it into a display case and eliminate the dings. Now it is a good looking display case. 101 years old, it looks cool and it runs great. Nice railroad style dial and thick RR hands. Bow stays in place. Check out my other auctions. White enamel single sunk dial with Arabic numerals. Original Dueber “Silverine” Open Face Case. MOVEMENT : When fully wound and placed on a timegrapher in the dial up position for 1 minute it shows the watch losing approximately +54 seconds per day. Stem pulls out easily. Bright plates, with a few fine scratches particularly on barrel bridge. Some oxide on regulator. DIAL : Hairline near 6. Under bezel chips near 6. CASE : Shallow dings to rear. Some small scratches on band and bezel. Marring to band at rear lip. Some spots of tarnish on cuvette. CRYSTAL: Good glass crystal. HANDS: Minute hand is slightly bent. 2.6, 18.0, 38.2. It is running strong with fabulous motion. The bezel and back screw on and off easily. This is not a factory made display case, it was made using a vintage original Illinois Watch Case Co case and the back has been machined to accept a crystal. This is not one of the new cases. The case was gold plated and all of the gold is gone and now the case is just brass. I polished it up and it will gain a nice even patina as time goes on.
