Special Railway 23J HC. 18 size 23 jewel hunting case lever-set Special Railway pocket watch movement/dial/hands. Beautiful high grade movement with gold jewel settings, gold balance screws, and a spectacular fancy 2-tone gold and nickel damaskeen finish. Fronted by its correct double-sunk enamel dial. Serial number is 1268005. Running but balance motion is quite sluggish and I think likely this movement hasn’t seen a servicing in many years. Absolutely beautiful movement with superb 2-tone color and luster. Dial has an outer chapter hairline between 3 and 4 O’clock, a light hairline above its seconds-register, an extremely faint hairline below its seconds-register at 28 minutes, and some small edge flakes near 30 minutes.
