This piece is a marriage between an outer enamel on silver two piece case and an 18th century verge fusee movement pocket watch. The mechanism is signed and numbered and in great working condition. The face has a painted rural scene on it with Roman numerals on the dial. A beautiful novelty watch which was created by a watch maker or jeweler a long time ago. This piece is wound up using a number 6 watch key. Movement marked: Abraham Sreadrea Cheyandower No 1819 A great addition to your antique silver and enamel or novelty pocket watch collection. MEASUREMENTS Cased watch measures 1.5″ tall by 2.25″ wide and weighs 6.6oz. CONDITION In good working condition with wear commensurate with age. A Georgian silver pair cased verge pocket watch c1810 by P. The richly chased and engraved movement is in good cosmetic condition and takes a full wind, running the length of the chain in a face down position but tends to stop when face up so will need some work to rectify. The dial is in excellent order with no apparent damage and spade and whip hands are fitted. The silver cases are in very good age related condition with no large dents as pictured but the outer case button is worn through the top as is quite common with watches of this age. The high domed bullseye crystal is in good order. The watch measures over 54mm across and weighs 128g. Samuel Joseph, Liverpool unusual verge fusee pocket watch with demi-hunting case and terrific fancy balance cock. Silver consular style case measures approximately 54mm in diameter (pendant excluded) and is marked with London hallmarks, the date letter is not fully distinct due to wear but appears to be very likely for either 1800 or 1801 (capital E or F). Dial is white enamel and has a central chapter that is visible when the front of the case is closed, has an outer chapter visible when the front of the case is opened, and has a winding aperture toward bottom. Movement is marked with the serial number 1262, the word “Warranted, ” and has a magnificent fancy balance cock with a radiating sunburst design to its table. Running and a nice looking movement overall with excellent gilt color. Dial is excellent with just a scratch between 5 and 6 O’clock in its inner chapter and a small fine scratch at outer edge near the 1 minute marker. Minute hand appears to be a replacement being of different color than hour hand. Case is attractive with a good overall in hand look and feel. Case front opens somewhat wide of 90 degrees, case rear has some scattered dents and dings, and case front has a few mild small dings. Demi-hunting case crystal has some scratches.
