A very interesting early Illinois watch company great IWC antique pocket watch. Movement is a gilt movement and is a good running movement and seems to keep time but I have not checked it over a long period. Movement has some tarnish on plates, but has good motion. Case is a very interesting and unusual pair style Fahys coin, silver case that is quadruple hinged and opens up in four different directions. A very interesting and high-quality coin silver case. Case closes and opens as it should and has nice gold hinges. Dial is the original unmarked Illinois glass enamel dial. A very interesting keywind pocket watch that is well over 120 years old. Unusual English Pocket Watch in Custom Case, Chronograph? Please see photographs for condition and size. The pictures form an important part of the description. This unusual piece comes in its own seemingly custom made case (lacking its main case back). The front is screw down, the back pops off. Pictures taken without the front as the crystal is quite yellowed. From the reverse the movement seems nothing special, from the front its quite complicated. The watch is winding and ticking away nicely. It will need servicing as it is visually dirty. But the button needs 3 presses to revert back to its original position/cycle. Vintage Unusual ILLINOIS 23J 12S 410 Model 5 with 14k White GF Hex case rare. Gold hands and numbers. Two tiny pits on back, like a grain of salt or smaller. In picture 3 you can see one around the 2-3 position and an even smaller one around the 11 position. The thing in the 8 position is a reflection of my smoke detector. Picture 4 has a close up. One thing i noticed when winding the watch is that the crown comes out to the setting time position unusually easy. Everything works but there seems to be a weak retainer. Samuel Thorp, Abberley verge fusee pocket watch with very unusual hunting case having elegantly pierced front lid. Silver case measures approximately 49mm diameter (pendant excluded) and bears London hallmarks for 1810 as well as a B. W marking in cameo for casemaker Benjamin Webb of Clerkenwell. Case appears to have been gilt at one time but now has lost nearly all gilt finish from its exterior, though much of the gilt finish to its interior remains. Case exterior has an attractive acquired patina which combines with the unusual pierced front to give this watch a striking in hand appearance. Dial is enamel with a winding aperture at the 3 O’clock position. Movement features a verge escapement and has a very attractive pierced and engraved balance cock. Movement serial number is 285. Fully wound and will tick briefly with a twist or will tick continuously if some reverse pressure is held at fusee, and I think likely this watch hasn’t been serviced in many years. Nice looking movement overall but with some scattered scratches and surface marks. Edge of main plate has one empty threaded hole for a screw adjacent the foot of the balance cock. Dial has a patched edge chip between 9 O’clock and 10 O’clock, some edge flaking around the 7:30 area, and some hairlines at several areas of perimeter with the most notable being around 7 O’clock. Case has an excellent in hand look with an attractive acquired patina. Case appears to have been at one time gold-plated but the exterior of case has virtually all of its gold-plating with the exception of some portions remaining to the neck of the pendant. Bow is brass with only some small bits of gold-plating remaining. Case front tilts back freely about 1/3 of the way toward closed with gravity. Domed glass crystal has some abrasions around center. Samuel Joseph, Liverpool unusual verge fusee pocket watch with demi-hunting case and terrific fancy balance cock. Silver consular style case measures approximately 54mm in diameter (pendant excluded) and is marked with London hallmarks, the date letter is not fully distinct due to wear but appears to be very likely for either 1800 or 1801 (capital E or F). Dial is white enamel and has a central chapter that is visible when the front of the case is closed, has an outer chapter visible when the front of the case is opened, and has a winding aperture toward bottom. Movement is marked with the serial number 1262, the word “Warranted, ” and has a magnificent fancy balance cock with a radiating sunburst design to its table. Running and a nice looking movement overall with excellent gilt color. Dial is excellent with just a scratch between 5 and 6 O’clock in its inner chapter and a small fine scratch at outer edge near the 1 minute marker. Minute hand appears to be a replacement being of different color than hour hand. Case is attractive with a good overall in hand look and feel. Case front opens somewhat wide of 90 degrees, case rear has some scattered dents and dings, and case front has a few mild small dings. Demi-hunting case crystal has some scratches. Unusual English verge in underpainted horn gilt pair cases open face antique pocket watch. Full plate fire gilt movement with baluster pillars. Pierced and engraved cock , silver regulator disc. Fusee and chain with worm , and wheel barrel set up between the plates. Plain three arm steel balance , blue steel spiral hairspring. White enamel dial with Roman numerals in the inner chapters for hours and Arabic numerals in the outer chapters for minutes , fine gold hands. Gilt outer covered in translucent horn underpainted with a scene of fern , birds , and butterfly. The outer case also decorated with gilt pique pins. Key wind , key – set. To wind the watch turn the key about 11 times counter clockwise. The movement is signed. William Mloon London AD 1800. Ultimate choice underpainted antique pocket watch for watch collectors. Very fabulous , and great treasure for someone who is looking for an original master piece of antique. The condition of the watch. The watch is in a good working condition. When it is fully wind it works continuously more than 24 hours but it goes faster by 8 minutes a day. Case : Nice underpainted gilt outer case but it has 2 small defects (have white color) near the edge , one big crack at the pusher, 2 cracks on the top side part of the outer case , and some hairlines at the back of the outer case. Also one pique pin above the hinge is missing. Please check all the pictures. Crystal :Very marvelous high dome shaped crystal but it has some hairlines , small scratches, and small dots. Dial : Beautiful porcelain dial but it has some hairlines and very few and light dots. Hands : two gold hands and they are the original hands of the watch. The inner case , and the outer case can be closed properly and very tight without any problem. All the parts of the watch are the original parts and no modified parts.
