WHAT AN ABSOLUTELY SUPERB TOP QUALITY WATCH! The 3 piece double hinged case to this absolutely beautiful watch is solid 18k gold. The dustcover IS also solid 18k gold and shows just light wear inside of the case is marked for 18k. It has a fantastic, stunning rare and extemely beautiful flowers and insect (a butterfly) hand multi colored enameled pattern to the case back. The enamel is in beautiful condition with just one slight bit of loss that is noticeable and a few light marks on the surface to the case back. The bezel is also beautifully enameled in red which looks amazing! The case side has a gorgeous engraved finish which shows NO dings to my eye. All covers push to and snap in well. I have gently polished the case, and it is shining wonderfully, as only real SOLID hi quality GOLD can. THE WATCH MEASURES 3.1CMS (31mm) across excluding the crown and chain ring. Both of the solid gold case hinges are excellent. This lovely collectible watch has a STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL AND EXTREMELY RARE original beautiful gold Pallione enameled dial. This dial is absolutely exquisite and of museum quality. The outside of the dial is adorned with a leaf engraved surround which looks stunning. It is un signed and is showing NO damage that I can see. It has beautiful black painted Roman numerals which are in excellent condition (see pics). The crystal seems to be glass is flush fitting, and also seems to be old. As such it is showing light wear but is in very good condition. The beautiful antique Louis XV style golden steel watch hands are in excellent original condition. This is a lovely condition nice quality unsigned cylinder movment which was typical of the movements at this time. It is Swiss made and is crown wound and pin set. It has minty steel screws. The watch runs well, and starts to tick after a couple of turns of the key. As usual this stunning watch would benefit from a service by a watchmaker for optimum performance and timekeeping. The watch is keeping good time to within a few mins per day as tested over a 12 hour period. It winds smoothly, and sets as it should. The crown is marked for solid 18k gold and the engraved chain ring looks to be plated. Please remember that vintage watches have survived for many decades by being treated well. Vintage watches are not for wearing while doing yard work, working out, or swimming. Vintage watches cannot keep time like their quartz cousins and will need altering on average between +-2 to +-5 mins per day. They are a little more destructible than modern watches. Vintage watches also require periodic service and cleaning. Every couple of years, they would like their 20,000 mile checkup, oil change, and general service. By taking care of your vintage watch, you will have years of great service, and a quality heirloom to pass to another generation. There is NO exception.
