The movement is in good working condition, although accuracy has not been tested. The double sunk dial has hairlines, mostly between 9 and 1, in the inner section. Please see the last two pictures. The crystal is plastic. August 1888 – November 1888. Production date of the movement according to factory records. Stunning 16S Gold Filled Engraved Hunting Case Waltham Pocket Watch ca. This gold filled, Grade No. 28, Model 1888, 16 size, 15 jewel, adjusted Waltham pocket watch has an approximate 52.5mm round case. One side of the case is completely decorated with guilloche work, while the other has guilloche, flowers, a scroll design and a plaque perfect for personalizing! This case is in excellent condition having almost no wear and only a small ding near the bezel on the back. The white enamel dial has black Roman numerals, a red 5 minute track, blue spade hands, a sunk seconds register at 6 o’clock and is marked Ameriacn Waltham Watch Co. Aside from a very small hairline at 7 o’clock, this dial is clean and in good condition. The crystal is in good condition. The inside case is stamped “WWCCo – 152452″. This is the Wadsworth Watch Case Co. The dust cover is stamped “152452″ and also has a marking indicating that this watch was serviced in 2015. We unfortunately do not have the service record. The 3/4 plate nickle movement is stamped A. The crystals and screws are all in good condition. Stem wind and set. This watch is currently running two minutes slow. No guarantee of future performance. Model 1 Grade 101. Appears clean, running sluggish, some light rust on the winding wheel caps. Single sunk glass with hairlines from 8 to 9. Dueber YGF box hinge hunters case showing slight wear. Hinges are good and open to 90 degrees. Bow is a little loose and the crown is good. A little brass at the neck and bottom of the box but no holes in the box. Nice open tulip style hands. Runs the full length of the chain with a hard sounding tick and keeping fantastic good verge time, about 2 minutes deviation per 24 hr runtime. (please do not expect quartz time accuracy from a 158 years old pocket watch which are collectors items and not meant to wear). The movement shines like it was made yesterday, is signed “Richard Eade Steyning” and bears the serial number 93529. Nice original SOLID silver hands. All covers close with a tight fit as it should. Enamel dial looks perfect! Old glass looks perfect! Original old watchpaper included. Both cases have the same hallmarks for London 1860. Case solid sterling silver, hand polished and looking great.
