The watch features a finely pierced and chased balance cock depicting a masked face and floral decor. The watch is fully functioning and has gold hands upon a biscuit tinted dial. Gold filled Waltham 1883 grade No. The case is in good condition (no brassing), but has some dents and wear commensurate with age. The movement is in good working condition, although accuracy has not been tested. The double sunk dial has hairlines, mostly between 9 and 1, in the inner section. Please see the last two pictures. The crystal is plastic. August 1888 – November 1888. Production date of the movement according to factory records. Hunting: The stem is at the 3:00 position, and the movement is meant to be mounted in a case that has a covering over the face. “Sidewinders” are hunting movements in openface cases. 1954 Waltham “Gray Book” List.
