FINE 10k GOLD LADIES HUNTING CASE POCKET WATCH BY ELGIN. FOR MARSHALL FIELD CO 1895. The serial number dates it to 1895. Superb engraved case, the cartouche bears no monogram. Delicate original gold hands. Straight from a safe deposit box. The case is superb… 10k solid yellow gold… Hinges are solid and work well with good snap. That mark is unknown to us. The watch is about 2 1/4″ tall and 1 1/2″ wide. The watch appears to run strongly. It started right up. It has been running for several hours. We assume it will need a cleaning, service, repairs etc. The weight is 53.32 grams. The case is unmarked as to purity, we had it laser tested, it is solid 10K yellow gold- not gold plated.
