A beautiful heavy Sterling Silver pair case verge fusee Pocket watch. Made by the watchmaker Franchis Marshall of Wath. The movement with winds smoothly and runs with a great motion. In all positions, keeps very good time, the movement is signed. Franchis Marshall Wath, and the number 3000. The movement is recently fully serviced. The enameled dial is in a nice condition, has only a very. Faint hairline on the edge between 4 and 5 hour position. The crystal bulls-eye glass is near mint, nos. The thick sterling watch cases are near mint, identical hallmarked for. Birmingham, year letter W, what stands for the year 1843. No dings or dents, near mint. Across 55mm, including bow 75mm. Thick 27mm, weight 137 grams. The watchmaker Franchis Marshall of Wath, working 1838. Is well listed in G. Ballie and Brian Loomes. “Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World”. Overall a very nice heavy sterling silver verge watch. In a fine working condition. Will be delivered with a fitting key, and also with a key set of 14 pcs. FINE 10k GOLD LADIES HUNTING CASE POCKET WATCH ELGIN FOR MARSHALL FIELD CO 1895

FINE 10k GOLD LADIES HUNTING CASE POCKET WATCH BY ELGIN. FOR MARSHALL FIELD CO 1895. The serial number dates it to 1895. Superb engraved case, the cartouche bears no monogram. Delicate original gold hands. Straight from a safe deposit box. The case is superb… 10k solid yellow gold… Hinges are solid and work well with good snap. That mark is unknown to us. The watch is about 2 1/4″ tall and 1 1/2″ wide. The watch appears to run strongly. It started right up. It has been running for several hours. We assume it will need a cleaning, service, repairs etc. The weight is 53.32 grams. The case is unmarked as to purity, we had it laser tested, it is solid 10K yellow gold- not gold plated. We note slight hairlines to the dial. This is very very nice. Information about the movement from the Elgin Watch Co. Website is found below. Pendant Wind and Set.
