Pocket Watch Case

This pocket watch measures one and 5/8 inches in diameter. It was manufactured sometime between 1890 and 1904. The watch, itself, was manufactured by the new Columbus watch company, numbered 357721. The case was manufactured by Essex superior, case number 631534. It is yellow and rose gold, with a pagoda motif, with a single diamond on one side of the case. This watch has been in my family for four generations. I’m looking to find it a good home. This watch has my grandfather’s name engraved inside the case.

Dial 18K Yellow Gold Hunting Case Quarter Repeater Pocket Watch. This rare Thomas Gaunt & Co. Quarter repeater has a solid 18k yellow gold case measuring approximately 52mm in diameter x 3 inches long including bow. The high polished case has a very minimal dent on the front cover and a very tiny spot on the case back but is in otherwise excellent condition. The front, back and dust cover hinges open, close and secure properly. The white enamel dial has black Roman numerals, blue light spade/whip hands, a single sunk seconds register at six o’clock and is marked T. The dial is in excellent condition with no hairlines. The crystal is in great condition. The inside back cover is stamped “18C” and has the same three unidentified hallmarks as the front cover. The dust cover has very minimal surface wear for it’s age. The inside dust cover is also stamped “18C” and has the same three unidentified hallmarks. The movement is only marked “Slow – Fast”. The movement appears to be in great condition with very little wear, including the jewels and screws. This watch is stem wind, pin set. This antique watch is running. The slide at the base of the watch controls the repeater function. This rare quarter repeater is in working condition and chimes, in two different tones, beautifully. 109.3 grams total weight. Due to the lack of records on these antique Thomas Gaunt watches, I do not have an exact date. Again, I can not be one hundred percent sure about the dates. This highly collectible Thomas Gaunt quarter repeater is in overall excellent condition! Size 3/0 Waltham pocket watch featuring a solid 14K gold case. This may very well be the most pristine case we’ve ever had, this watch was on a necklace and has hardly case wear at all. I wound it three cranks and it ran for a few hours, it’s been on my desk a couple days and it runs anywhere from about 20 seconds to a couple hours. We actually knew the former owner and this watch hadn’t seen the light of day in at least 25 years. Estate fresh, has not been cleaned. About 1 5/16 diameter. Needs the movement cleaned.
