Pocket watch in good running condition. The watch is a size 16 with a 21jewels railroad grade movement. The nickel silver case is in good condition with small light scratches. This is a lever set model. The 24 hour dial is in good condition with a chip between the 2 and the 3 markers. These vintage watches are not as accurate as quartz watches so they have not been tested and not guaranteed for long time accuracy. Description: 1920s International Watch Co. 900 Coin Silver Probus High Grade Pocket Watch in fancy open face case. Movement serial number #875451. Case serial number #896471. Case features IWC mark, Swiss Bear Hallmarks and German half-moon and crown hallmark, indicating that this Swiss made watch and case was sent to Germany after production. The crown mark was given to both German made silver and silver coming into Germany, so it is unknown if this was marked in advance of export or upon import. Watch is missing regulator spring. Condition: Good condition, ticking, balance is free, movement winds well and hands set well. Hands and dial in good condition with only minor loss of color on hands and light scratching to dial, particularly on sunk second dial. Case is good as well with very minimal wear. Some denting to the bow and some minor tarnishing in cervices of decorative edge. After being set and wound, the watch ran continuously and accurately for over 18 hours despite not having regulator spring. Unless otherwise noted, watches have not been tested for accuracy and are not tested for more than a few minutes. We test the condition of each watch movement by winding it, setting the hands, and observing if it is ticking or not. Early Elgin keywind pocket watch from about 1871. Made for John V Farwell & Co. Only about 2400 of these were made according to pocket watch data base. The 11 jewel movement is running strong. I see one small chip on the edge of the dial between 9 and 10. The front lid lift spring is weak. Lid opens to 90 degrees and has tight hinges. The 11 jewel movement is a model 1 grade 12 with a solid nickel balance. Serial number is 101015. The release button is well worn and does not stay in place properly.
