Description: 1920s International Watch Co. 900 Coin Silver Probus High Grade Pocket Watch in fancy open face case. Movement serial number #875451. Case serial number #896471. Case features IWC mark, Swiss Bear Hallmarks and German half-moon and crown hallmark, indicating that this Swiss made watch and case was sent to Germany after production. The crown mark was given to both German made silver and silver coming into Germany, so it is unknown if this was marked in advance of export or upon import. Watch is missing regulator spring. Condition: Good condition, ticking, balance is free, movement winds well and hands set well. Hands and dial in good condition with only minor loss of color on hands and light scratching to dial, particularly on sunk second dial. Case is good as well with very minimal wear. Some denting to the bow and some minor tarnishing in cervices of decorative edge. After being set and wound, the watch ran continuously and accurately for over 18 hours despite not having regulator spring. Unless otherwise noted, watches have not been tested for accuracy and are not tested for more than a few minutes. We test the condition of each watch movement by winding it, setting the hands, and observing if it is ticking or not. In new ss case!! High grade IWC Schaffhausen cal 52 in new custom made stainless steel case. Three piece case diameter 46mm and 14mm high, with crystal glass back to see this beauty due working. Moveable lugs so it good lies on the wrist and is very comfortable in everyday use. Movement cal 52 with number 927151 from 1930. All parts are original and working properly. Gold central chaton and microregulation add value and nice shape. There are Probus Scafusia stamp on the main plate. There are few discolloration on plates but not polished to rescue original old shape. It was profesionally lublicated by my watchmaker and could be worn for next 100 years!!
