This is an “American Star” 21 jewel pocket watch that was made by Hampden. It is an 18 size lever set watch. The dial and movement are marked N. The watch was just serviced and it runs strong in all positions. Keeps time to within a minute a day. It was disassembled, ultrasonically cleaned, oiled and reassembled. It did not get a new mainspring. The movement is rust free. The porcelain dial had a huge chip at the top, which has been touched up. The case was a Keystone Watch Case Co silveroid case and the back has been replaced with another bezel from an identical case. Good glass crystals on front and back. Both bezels screw on and off easily with no cross threading. Bow stays in place. The dial will be hard to replace unless you just want to replace it with a Hampden dial? Here is a freshly serviced 1906 Elgin 18S gilt stem set and wind movement. It’s been keeping within a minute or so for the last 3 weeks. The white dial has a mark around the 3-4. Hands are straight and nicely blued still. The bow stands up firm. The crown appears to be new old stock. There is a new old stock mineral glass crystal installed. It has a small edge chips in it that’s almost unnoticeable. The front cover is very finicky but it goes. Goes easier with a rubber grip.

Elgin thin model 12 size pocket watch from 1937. This is the thin movement with detent that Elgin produced for the “thin” pocket watch craze of the 30s. It has a fancy Deuber 20 year white gold filled case with peacocks at a fountain engraved on the back. It has been serviced and keeps time to within a minute a day. Painted dial with fancy hands.. Antique restored Key Wind pocket watch! Watch runs very good, & keeps good time. Professionally serviced around 2018. The nice “5 oz” coin silver case has been polished back then. Manual wind (key wind, key set by dial/front) The 18s movement is marked Elgin Nat’l Watch Co. Model 1, grade 13, 11 jewels, serial number 968843 (circa 1882). Original porcelain dial, good condition, marked. Elgin Nat’l Watch Co. Hunter case, 5oz coin silver by Blauer, good condition, buffed during service as for the inner dust cover. All covers/bezel open/close as they should. Glass crystal is nice. Measures 60 mm wide, 80 mm tall, 21 mm thick. (2.36″ x 3.15″ x 0.83) Total weight of watch: 218 grams. Not guaranteed or tested as waterproof, like any antique watch. NOTE: this is a 154 years old KEY WIND watch for knowledgable collectors, not ideal for everyday use!
