Serial Number – 13800815. Movement – 15 jewel mechanical wind. Composition – 20-year Gold filled The Philadelphia Watch Case Co.. There are also 5 diamonds on the back. Case measurement – 36.3 mm. Condition- Running and it is 1-minute fast on a 24-hour test. Dial has a hairline between the 4 and 5, Crystal is very good, Bow and Crown are good, Case looks nice, Hands are very good. Winds and sets time easily. Info – I have timed many of the watches, but you must know that when these watches travel in the Post Office sometimes, they are bumped a lot. That timing may change. This antique Elgin pocket watch from 1903 is a stunning piece that comes with its original wooden case. The watch has a beautiful white dial with Arabic numerals and a 12-hour dial. The watch features a mechanical (manual) movement with 7 jewels and a seconds hand. The gold-filled case is in great condition and has a yellow gold color. The watch is a a mid size pocket watch suitable for anyone and has somewhat of has a dress/formal style. The model number is Philadelphia warranted case co 4011450, Elgin National Watch Co 9870464 dated 1903, and it was manufactured in the United States. It is a great addition to any watch collection. This watch comes in the original wooden case. The inside dedication reads as follows. On her 49th Birthday. The watch is in running condition, however, accuracy is unlikely as with all watches of this nature and age. It has a wind up mechanism and is set also the same way. Antique restored Key Wind pocket watch! Watch runs very good, & keeps good time. Professionally serviced around 2018. The nice “5 oz” coin silver case has been polished back then. Manual wind (key wind, key set by dial/front) The 18s movement is marked Elgin Nat’l Watch Co. Model 1, grade 13, 11 jewels, serial number 968843 (circa 1882). Original porcelain dial, good condition, marked. Elgin Nat’l Watch Co. Hunter case, 5oz coin silver by Blauer, good condition, buffed during service as for the inner dust cover. All covers/bezel open/close as they should. Glass crystal is nice. Measures 60 mm wide, 80 mm tall, 21 mm thick. (2.36″ x 3.15″ x 0.83) Total weight of watch: 218 grams. Not guaranteed or tested as waterproof, like any antique watch. NOTE: this is a 154 years old KEY WIND watch for knowledgable collectors, not ideal for everyday use! This watch will look better in your hand than it does in the pics. A solid example of an early 14 sized American pocket watch in all original condition and running strong. This watch is cased in it’s original, quality Nickel/Silver case (unsigned) identified by it’s unique large pin set, screw on back and snap-on front bezel. Case wear is low for the age with minor, normal surface scratches and marks, but general appearance is well above average. Case diameter is large for a 14 size at approx. The watch winds, sets and runs strong and is keeping good time, as it has been recently serviced. The visually clean, full plate gilt movement appears all original. It’s signed’A. Waltham Mass”Bond St.’Safety Pinion’ and serial number’2961283′, dating it to approx. The Roman Numeral indices, porcelain dial has a sub second hand at 6 o’clock and is signed’A. W. Co’, which is correct for this movement and is hand painted. It is in excellent shape, with one barely visible hairline crack, but no chips. The beveled, bowed glass crystal is HUGE and in equally clean, original condition. This is a very solid watch and running strong….
