This is a very cool and hard to find “Space age” Novelty pocket watch, its similar to the Dan Dare Novelty watch but this version which I think is called either “From outer Space” or “Lost in Space” is really difficult to find in good original working condition like this. It has turned up in a local estate and has sat in an old draw within its original stand for possibly the last 5 decades if not longer, the overall condition is just remarkable and its clearly been well looked after and away from sun light, I do not know what they sell for and its the first we have found with the original Cream painted stand / clock conversion case and its just such a great example, because they are very cheaply made watches and designed to only last a few months an example in this original state is really uncommon. The watch winds very well and hand sets, its also working when wound, I had my watchmaker look at the watch and he said it still retains much of the original finish and has clearly seen little use. The timekeeping was not tested but he suggested that its doing well as set. The case is the classic watch stand 2 part case in its original cream paint, it has a couple very minor chips but its all original which is rather cool looking. The movement is the classic Ingersol type “Made in England” & its working well at present with both the head nod of the astronaut and the revolving star. Just a super looking watch with a great original dial and hands, overall a very nice vintage silver pocket watch. Size: approx 4.8 cm across the watch case. 161A w/Original Hamilton Case. 16 size 21 jewel open face lever-set Bunn Special Grade 161A 60 Hour Elinvar pocket watch. The notable feature of this example is its rare original Hamilton factory casing in a 2-tone gold-filled and stainless steel No. 13″ bar-over-crown case with “Hamilton Railroad marked crown. Original examples of the 161A with this case were finished in 1948 and represent pieces from the final output of 161A movements. This final 161A output is noted in Hamilton records as 809 examples that were finished in 1948 and fitted with 992B style balance wheels and white colored “Elinvar Extra” hairsprings. Some, if not all, of these 809 examples were then paired with the distinctive sunk-seconds enamel dial as seen on this example, and were housed in Hamilton No. 13 cases or Hamilton Model 12 cases to be distributed to Hamilton retailers. Correct original examples of these watches can by identified by their appropriate Hamilton cases that show only the case screw marks at Illinois 161A case screw positions, by their 992B style balances and hairsprings, by the presence of this distinctive dial, and by their movement and case serial numbers falling in line with other known examples. Good intact examples of these watches are very tough to find due both to their relatively low original production and to their accelerated attrition in more recent decades caused by examples that fell into the hands of collectors and dealers that didn’t understand their originality and split them apart to recase into Bunn Special signed cases. Movement serial number of this example is 5592765. Running but balance motion is somewhat sluggish and I think likely movement has not seen a cleaning and oiling in many years. Nice looking movement overall with excellent color and luster. Inner edge of barrel bridge has some abrasion adjacent regulator adjustment screw position. Winding wheels and regulator assembly have mild oxide. Dial is virtually flawless with only a few infinitesimal pinpoint edge nicks under the case bezel. Case is very nice overall with a strong in hand look and feel but with some typical mild dings and scratches, and perimeter lip of case rear has some small waviness to its contour suggesting possibly a past opening attempt with a tool. Antique Allamand 18K Gold Demi Hunter Watch. Striking antique Fritz Allamand 18K gold demi hunter pocket watch made in London, England in 1926 and in amazing condition. The watch preserves the original movement; this has been checked in order to provide an optimal performance. It comes in its original storing case, with the manufacturerss name (ALLAMAND BROTHERS 3006) in golden lettering and printed on the lids inner white-satin lining. The case hides a compartment with two spare glasses and a spring, all of them original from the time. The case is in great condition: the outside dark-red leatherette covering and the inner blue-velvet lining are very well preserved. The same can be said about the watchs casing, with a non-decorated gold front cap which shows no signs of wear of scratches. Around the gap that makes it possible to see the dial we can see the Roman numerals that mark the hours. Its inner side bears several hallmarks which identify the gold it is made of; the piece that connects the crown and the casing bears a hallmark too. If we lift the front cap we will see the complete white dial, with pear or spade-type cobalt-blue hands, black Roman numerals and the brand and model in black lettering: ALLAMAND BROTHERS, LONDON 3006. The rear cap is adorned with a gorgeous hand-engraved acronym composed of the initials APB, intertwined and decorated of multiple tiny details. Under this cap we find the dustcap, also made of gold, with hallmarks and with no decoration at all. The movement that rests under this piece shows some fine hand-engraved inscriptions in cursive lettering, including the manufacturers name and address and the model. Attractive and authentic, this antique Allamand 18K gold demi hunter pocket watch is an old-time jewel almost one century old. Dimensions: Width: 41 mm. Here I was born, here I live, and here I have my small antiques shop. We are proffesional antique dealers. I started in this world as a collector. My father introduced me into the world of antique collectibles and I started my own antique search at flea markets for my own small antiques collections since I was very young. We have sent successfully, from fragile items as Chinese Porcelain, to heavy items as Slot Coin Machines, not together into the same box, of course! . We can send almost everything with security, no matter how big or heavy it is, if the client wants to pay the price, because some heavy or big items or delicate items into big boxes are specially expensive to send, not perhaps within Europe, but sometimes to America or Asia and some require custom made packing, as custom made wooden boxes or special foam for transport protection. We work with Selected pieces. All my items are first class collectors items, in excellent conditions , conservation state or/and working conditions. If talking about antique machines, most of them are in perfect working conditions, perfect conservation state or perfectly restored. The few that are not, because it was not possible to repair it, it’s clearly indicated. I like to work with the best pieces that I can find. I prefer to work only with selected pieces. Selected’ doesnt mean’unaffordable’. My pieces have very correct prices, depending on the rarity and the conservation state of the piece itself. Every piece has a price rank, from junk state to museum state, that I consider is the highest one. Selected means that I prefer to work with Museum State pieces, or near, and First Class collectors items, or near rather than other kind of low quality pieces. We guarantee the description and datation of all our pieces. I always give guarantee my descriptions, not only in general antiques, but even in the working condition of an antique machine. Of course, to be completely sincere, its mainly impossible to give a full guarantee in the working condition of an antique working machine with over or more than 100 years. Many things can happen inside an antique mechanism and todays perfectly working spring, could be the futures failure as far away as in ten years or as near as the next month. If necessary, we restore and/or repair and finally clean and/or adjust, all our antique machines, and if its there’s a defect or malfunctions, its clearly indicated in the description, video or pictures. We try to have all our pieces in perfect working conditions, but if a disaster occurs and the item gets out of order or damaged, for any reason, we can help to solve the problem or to help to repair it or to restore it. We work with first class professionals that can restore from antique medieval paintings to 13th Century silver, other metals as iron, copper and bronze, to any kind of wood. Also, we can repair antique machines as gramophones, antique clocks, typewriters and antique mechanical calculators. Our Priority is your satisfaction.
