As a watch collector for over 25 years I know Chopard is at the top of the food chain for high-end Swiss made watches. I personally own one Chopard wrist watch in 18k gold and it is a beauty. I honestly place Chopard right up there with Patek and A. They go up from there. Weighs 52.0 grams or 33.4 pennyweight. There is an engraving on the inside of the front lid dating this Chopard Geneve watch to 1977. This watch is manual wind and is mechanical. The dial is just about perfect and the crystal is excellent. Some one has taken a file to one edge of the watch to check the 18k gold content. Here is a clean SOLID 14k Gold Size 0 American Waltham Hunter’s Case Seaside pocket watch that is 115 years old!!! Looks great for being this old. Has a very ornately decorated front & back lids. Really is a crisp sharp case. Because it is gold there are a few dings that really don’t show on the outside but you can see them on the inside of the lids. The hinges are good. This watch measures 34.0 mm across the case not including the ornate bow and crown. Weights 31.0 grams including the movement. This watch is stem wound and stem set and is running but I have no service records to offer. It has a Seaside 15 jewel movement per the serial # 10,450,101. Also known as a Model 1891. Serial # dates this Waltham watch to 1901. Again it is really hard to believe this watch is well over 100 years old. The SIGNED dial is clean. Has blued hands and a red 5 minute outer chapter ring. The second hand looks like it was replaced as it does not match the hour and minute hands. Again this solid gold Waltham watch is running. I sell all my watches as-is and as found. Tiffany & Co Pocket Watch. Movement by Patek Philippe. This pocket watch is in excellent condition. The movement is fully functional and the hinged covers open/close and snap properly into place. The enamel dial appears to be in excellent condition although there is some lint and debris that we have not attempted to clean. Please note that although the dial appears to have no imperfections we can’t be certain unless the debris is removed from under the crystal and frankly we’d rather not get into opening the watch and attempting to clean it lest we damage it. The watch features a third, hinged cover which allows for the exhibition of the movement through an acrylic crystal. The front cover is monogrammed with the initials “LK”. The watch measures approx 41mm in diameter and has a size 15 ligne movement with lever escapement and a seconds subdial. The serial number is engraved on both the case and movement and is doubly signed by Tiffany & Co. A Patek Philippe “Extract from the Archives” accompanies this watch. This watch has come to us directly from the estate of it’s original owner and is the first time it’s being offered for sale to dealers, collectors, and the general public. We do not know the service history. We have found it to keep time well enough (variance of a couple of minutes a day) to sell as-is and it runs for about a day on a full wind although no warranties are implied. Servicing of the movement is recommended for optimal performance. Our potential buyers are more knowledgeable than us when it comes to pocket watches.
