Model 1, 21 jewels, Size 16. Stem wind and level set. Ruby & Sapphire Jewel Material, Gold Settings Jewel Setting. Sapphire Pallet Jewel Material, Adjusted to 5 Positions & Temperature & Isochronism. Dial: White Porcelain, double sunken dial, no hairlines, a few chips in second hand circle. Crystal is in good condition. Case: gold filled open face case. The bow is nice and tight. The case shows light normal pocket wear. Both front & back covers open to 90 degrees and close with a good tight seal. I opened the covers using a case opening knife. Elgin National Watch Co. Father Time, 18s, grade 252, model 7, 21 jewel pocket watch in very good working condition. Serial number 9557524 dates this pocket watch to 1902. Watch case is hallmarked C. Crescent Watch Case Co. The hinged watch case has beautiful beaded detail around the bezel and back cover, it does show signs of wear. This pocket watch winds, sets and runs with no issues it keeps accurate time. This is a very heavily made Elgin model 21 jewel railroad grade movement. The production numbers are relatively low for this grade the database indicates 19,000 total production. Please review all pictures to judge the condition of this Father Time pocket watch for yourself. It may require cleaning oiling and adjusting to maintain it as an accurate time piece. It is not perfect it does show signs of normal patina for a pocket watch that is 116 years old. Antique 1887 Elgin Size 18s Key Wind 11 Jewel Pocket Watch in Double Hinged Half Hunter Case – Runs Great. I wound and ran this watch for about 12 hours and it started up on it’s own and runs strong, but I can not ensure it’s accuracy to keep exact time and due to it’s age it may require to be regulated. Case Measurement (not including Crown): 56.87mm. Case Measurement (including Crown): 68.10mm. Case Thickness: 20.50mm. Production year of the movement within +/- 3 years>. Hunting: The stem is at the 3:00 position, and the movement is meant to be mounted in a case that has a covering over the face. “Sidewinders” are hunting movements in openface cases. This Antique 1887 Key Wind Pocket Watch was made by Elgin National Watch Company and it runs great and keeps time. This Pocket Watch does start up on it’s own when wound and runs strong with great swing (I can not guarantee it’s accuracy and it may need regulated). The movement is Stamped ” Elgin National Watch Co – Saftey Pinion” and it’s serial numbered #2001802. This watch is a Key Wind and Key Set movement (Key Size #6 INCLUDED). This pocket watch has a Super Clean Enamel Dial with no Hairlines just one small edge chip at the 33 minute mark (See Pics). It has Blue Steel Hans which are in great condition. The crystal is real glass and it very clear with just a few very light surface scratches. It has Black Roman Numerical hour markers and a nice seconds dial at the 6 o’clock postion. The square (Cannon Pinion) used to set the time with the key is out of shape and needs repaired or replaced (I was able to set the time with tweezers). This Pocket Watch Case is Very Clean Nickel Double Hinged Half Hunter Case and it’s stamped inside “1A #251″. This case is in great condition and all hindged snap shut and open to 90 degrees. It is a plain polished case in great condition with a just a few small Dings on the back case lid (See Pics). It does has some light scratches from age. The movement is Stamped Elgin National Watch Co – Seven Jewels – Safety Pinion – U. And it’s serial numbered #3840235. This watch is a Stem Wind and Set Movement and it winds easily and the hands move smoothly when setting the time. This pocket watch has a Very Clean Enamel Dial with a very small hairline crack at the 7 o’clock postions and does have some edge chipping (See Pics). It has Blue Steel Hands which are in excellent condition with no rust visible. The Crystal is a Brand New (NOS) Glass Crystal and is very clear and is in mint condition. It has black hour markers and a nice seconds dial at the 6 o’clock postion. This Pocket Watch Case is a Double Hinged Open Face Case with a dust cover and is in great condition. It is Stamped inside “Keystone Watch Case Co – Silveroid” and it serial numbered #3840235. All Case lids snap shut and stay shut and the hinges open to 90 degrees. It does have a few light dings on the back cover and some tool marks on dust cover from opening. This case is very clean and shiny as you can see from the pictures but it has some light scratches from age. The Bow and Crown are in excellent condition. For your consideration is an 18S, 17J Elgin Grade 249, Model 4 Pocket Watch. This Watch comes in a hard to find Box Hinged Hunter Case and in really great overall condition. Watch is in working condition. I do not know when it was last serviced. Very bright gilt movement with serial number 8685845. Watch is pendant wind and lever set. The Single Sunk Dial is in great condition with three small chips by the III that don’t show under the bezel. I’ll also call it discoloration around the Elgin about a dime size but it looks like it is under the glaze and comes from the factory. The glass crystal is in nice condition. The hands are nicely blued. The Box Hinged Hunter Case is nicely engraved with light even wear with no distractions showing anywhere. All three covers open to 90 degrees with the front cover opening as it should. The gold filled case has the Keystone marking and number 1667208 on each cover. Please continue to check back. This is an extremely nice old Civil War Era Wm. Ellery 18 size 4 hinged coin silver hunting case. The gilt movement is marked Wm. Ellery Boston, Mass with serial number 212831 ca. The case is marked Warranted Coin Silver with fancy tooling inside the front cover. The case has gold hinges and shows only minimal wear while the engraving is still very crisp. The movement shows normal patina with no signs of abuse. I don’t know how many jewels, but there are 4 large “window pane” jewels visible on the top plate. The watch is running and setting fine but I don’t know when it was last serviced, so no guarantee to accuracy or extended run time. The balance has a great motion with a slight “wiggle”, but the pivots are fine. I would recommend a good cleaning and truing the balance, if you want better accuracy.
