Up for consideration is a nice Antique 1887 Elgin H H Taylor 18s 15j Silverode Case Railroad Pocket Watch – Grade 76. Watch is in nice physical condition for age, normal wear, dial has some crazing and crystal has a noticeable chip along edge (by 2), see photos.. The watch case has a railroad scene on the back which is worn (see photos). Watch currently does not run, but it wants to. It more than likely just needs a cleaning. It will run for a few seconds when you manually rotate the balance wheel, and the second/minute hands do move as time goes on. It does set/adjust/winds as it should (when it runs down a little). My standard listing lingo, please read in its entirety. Any defects not mentioned in the description but are visible in the photos are deemed to have been disclosed. It is not intentional. Up for sale is a circa 1888 Elgin 11 jewel 18 size pocket watch out of an estate! It is in a two-tone case with train on the back! The lever set movement is marked: Elgin Natl. The dial is marked: Elgin Natl. The swing out case appears to be silver and has a rose colored locomotive engine on the back! It has scratches and wear and is marked inside: 27 3. The thick crystal has chips and scratches. Crystal comes out of the case. The watch will wind and set. It will run a few seconds and stops/balance moves freely. It has been sitting in an estate for many years and will require service to run and keep time. Please see all photos for condition. Elgin pocket watch in a beautiful Fahys coin silver case. Decorated with a gilt bird and foliage. Case measures 35 mm across (1 3/8 inches). Watch face measures 20 mm. The watch is not running – the crystal is pretty scratched making it hard to see the condition of the dial. The case is in very nice undamaged condition with tarnishing to the silver.
