Starts when winding, there is no need to shake it. Time setting and winding are both smooth. To get you a clearer picture of how the watch will behave, I do the following home testing: I manually wind the watch, even if the watch has automatic wind, and test it against a watch that I know is correct. For this I purpose I use a web page that provides the exact time. I check the deviation after 12 and 24 hours. For this watch after 12 hours: +24 seconds and after 24 hours: +40 seconds. Actually wearing the watch in the pulse will get you different results for sure. 1 – The watch should not be used in the water! THANK YOU for considering our late-model, very sharp, strong running and dead accurate Hamilton Grade 950L lever set watch. Here’s the low-down. 2,505,923, circa 1934, scarce Grade 950L, 16 size, open face, 23 jewels, Model Three, adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, double roller, Patent Motor barrel, Breguet hairspring, cupped gold jewel settings, full gold train, all-gold balance screws, bridge nickel plate, stem wind, lever set movement. This fine 950L is in excellent working order, with a dead flat and true balance wheel motion that has a fine, wide arc and strong, steady beat. The watch is a smooth wind, starts right uponmy 8th wind with no jiggling, and lever sets as designed. The watch holds time within 30 seconds per week face-up after careful hand regulating. As for appearance this collectible 950L movement is looking terrific, with nice, 100% tarnish-free, bright and clean winding wheels, shiny bright and clean, bridge nickel plates with all of the fine golden engraving paint still intact, spotless regulator needle and whip, super clean looking inside, and reeling and rocking holding railroad time!! Dial : Hamilton’s famous and versatile Blindman Monty 16 size double sunk enamel with the black Arabic numerals and the famed Montgomery Patented red five-minute markers and black minute-markers. This dial in excellent shape all the way around except for one almost invisible vertical hairline. That’s totally it for damage that I can see with a loupe!!! Hands : Near mint condition original finish (not doctored-up aftermarket) diamond design blue matching style with pretty much 100% of the original factory blue finish intact – super fine hands and absolutely correct for this model! Case : near perfect condition Keystone J. Boss 16 size, open face, 25-year engraved green gold fill, pendant set and slot right, screw-back-and-bezel model! Here’s an Art Deco engraved KJB in just about as well-preserved condition as it gets, with a small rectangular blank cartouche at the bottom in back for a monogram, topped by ascending Deco pinstriping and fancy scroll work around the edges, engraved bezel, engraved bow, and the very highest amount of gold used back then!! This classic and traditional Deco case is in fully serviceable condition. I have restored and detailed this case right down to the threads so you get the best looking and working case possible! The back and bezel thread up easily, screw on and off smoothly, and both seat tight. The correct and matching crown’s fluting is super deep and crisp for a tight, sure grip, and it turns freely. The bow is likewise its correct matching engraved original, shows zero brass or damage, and holds very tight to positions. The crystal is a very thick beveled glass model and super clean and clear. The case does show excruciatingly minimal wear, including nothing other than the most superficial and unavoidable exterior scratching, zero marrings, zero doodlings, zero brass anywhere detectable, and absolutely, positively no sign of any dents, dings, dimples or depressions!!! I’ve owned this fine 950 for many enjoyable years and it has always run accurately and never failed to please and delight!! Please examine each photo carefully for further details, as the photos control over this written description. TERMS AND CONDITIONS: The large print giveth and the small print taketh away!
