I have for sale a rather rare unsigned deck watch, the movement is an EMT (Tissot) provided by Golay & Son Ltd. Of London – the same as those used in many of the Royal Navy HS3 deck chronometers. Stainless steel screw case with coin edge/milled bezel and caseback. The watch is in nice cosmetic condition and good running order however the service history is not known so one is recommended. The watch is about 80.5mm from top to bottom including the crown. The body is about 62.5mm in diameter. Please see my other auctions for more watches. Wathier Special Railway Chronometer. 18 size 17 jewel hunting case lever-set “Wathier Special Railway Chronometer” pocket watch. A rare and interesting private label watch with movement marked “Wathier Special Railway Chronometer, Chicago” and with double-sunk enamel dial marked Wathier’s Chronometer, Chicago. Movement has a standard lever escapement and is very attractive with a terrific 2-tone gold and nickel damaskeen finish and with gold-flashed screws and regulator assembly. Watch is housed in a gold-filled hunting case with a small lakeside home scene at its center rear. Movement serial number is 439143. Running and a beautiful movement with excellent 2-tone color and luster. Some movement screws have gilt loss or are non-gilt replacements. Center jewel setting appears to have been rotated 90 degrees as the brass setting has two extra witness marks visible from jewel setting screws. Dial faces up beautifully but has some scattered faint to very faint hairlines, a few minuscule edge nicks under the case bezel, and a minuscule surface nick near the edge outside the 52 minute position. Case shows moderate even wear with reduced engraving detail, a small dent to its band at 12 O’clock, some scattered dings, and bezel is brass colored with no gold finish remaining. Ugust rissn keyless chronometer spring detent pocket watch 200 1894. Original solid silver case by early François Borgel. Rare Ulysse Nardin caliber (probably made exclusively for Ericsson) featuring even more rare high-grade finishing version. Regularly, this UN-Ericsson calibers appear without jeweled centre staff, without chatons and without sapphire on balance top (scroll down for a pic from Dr Crott catalog). Quite desirable and unusual combination of famous watchmaking names. As found – something wrong with mainspring. Balance spins freely and contacts the going wheel; rest parts seem good as well. Never polished case as I conclude from lovely external patina and bright shiny internals. Perfect signed enamel dial. All original untouched condition. Silver pair case fusee detent chronometer. Parkinson and frodsham change alley. London hallmarked 1818 dial at fault. Runs for a while but stops foot detent. Looks ok bridge cock tipycal brockbanks type. Very unusual compensation curb this type. Was used on polar expeditions at that time. Although i can not find any records chain is. On cases not bad condition screw in the case. Lower part of bezel to hold movement or lock it in. Not there minor problem will need some work to repair. But well worth it for a rare watch.
