Pair case verge fusee calendar / stop watch pocket watch dated 1776. This is a key wind Verge Fusee Calendar / Stop watch pair case English made. This watch is dated at 1816. This watch is in very good working condition. Case: The outer Sterling silver case has the Silver halmark and date halmark on the inner bezel. (The same as the inner case) The outer case Has no big dings , just some small scratcher, but the push pin has lost some silver. On the inner back case has been solded over. TheMovement cases is stamped with the case maker L. B, the London halmark, the date halmark for 1776 and the Silver halmark. The case has dings and fine scratches. All hingers on both cases are good and the lids shut tight. The DIAL: The dial is white enamel with one repaired chip on the calenar dial near the center and there are some fine hairlines. The hands look to be gold and are in very good condition and this watch sets and winds with no problems. Has a bull nose crystal with no scratches. The Movement: The beautiful gold gilted Verge Fusee movement is signed I. Roberts LIVERPOOL No 28991. There has no gold loss and the movement is in perfect working order The balance cock has a diamond end stone and the movement is clean. Winds and set very well. Beautiful super clean English made by Jackson of London, Serial no. 7365 Silver pair cased verge fusee with calendar. Sharp Solid sterling silver case is Silver hall marked (k) 1808 of Birmingham assay. Beautiful Outstanding condition, white colored porcelain dial with nice Bold hour numbers and large 31 day calendar ring. Beautiful solid Gold matching hands and steel calendar hand. The dial shows just some light flakes on edge between the 11 and 12 and around the center arbor, also running thru the number 3. Otherwise it is truly beautiful. Absolutely spotless high domed bulls eye crystal. All case covers open, close and fit perfect together with nice and tight hinges. Key wind and key set pocket watch runs full length of chain. Balance has beautiful motion. The balance bridge is just amazing with its uniquely pierced 5 ring balance bridge. The movement is super clean with sharp blue screws and disk with a left side arrow index for regulating. In the pictures I show the amazing complicating calendar workings under the dial, which function perfectly making this a rare Quality pocket watch. The watch measures approx. 55mm excluding the bow. Pocket watch runs outstanding and keeps amazing fusee time, last checked between 1 or 2 minutes fast within approx. 24 hour period hanging from a hook in the vertical position…….. But cannot guarantee accuracy upon sale. These watches are verge type. Meant to keep time, not perfect time 210 years ago. Also special care must be taken not to overwind these old museum pieces and always remember to wind counter clockwise. Inside the case is a beautiful old watch makers paper from Salem New Jersey. Some little scratches, some little dents can be found, but overall if you keep this watch in your hand you see an antique timepiece to fell in love with. On the outer caseback are engravings. Both case has London silver hallmarks, and there is George III mark as well. The hallmarks are a little hard to see, but clearly there, and 100% original.
