Elgin early key wind key set antique pocket watch. Movement is an unusual movement that it is a Keywind movement that is made of nickel or half nickel. Grade 87 model 1 made an 1881. Watch is well over 140 years old. Watch Runs but I have not checked it for time keeping. Dial is a nice original glass enamel dial that is in very good condition. Nice snap back and bezel nickel silver original case. Movement serial number 877370. Watch is fully jeweled on the back plate and I believe it’s an 11 jewel watch. This will make a nice watch for the Elgin collector or for a Civil War reenactor. Please see pictures for more information and condition. This is a beautiful Elgin pocket watch in a 14k yellow gold case with a pretty bird engraving. It has 7 jewels Size 12s, serial number 24093862. It runs but stops, certainly needs cleaning. The case is 4.5 cm in diameter and 6.2 cm top ring to bottom. It weighs 1.99 troy ounces or 62.1 grams. The case is in good condition, engraving nice and bright. The shield on the back is lacking a monogram, you could put your own on. The back flap doesn’t seem to close completely, the lip might be worn from being clicked closed by previous owners.
