Model 5, 21 jewels, Size 16. Stem wind and level set. Adjusted to 6 Positions & Temperature, Railroad Grade: Yes. Dial: White Porcelain, double sunken dial, a few hairlines & many. Crystal is in good condition. Case: open face case. The bow is nice and tight. The case shows light normal pocket wear. Both front & back covers screw on and off easily with a good seal. If you like them big, this is for you. Its a 17 jewel movement, 18SZ Runs good. It was just serviced, cleaned and oiled. The #s on the movement are, 20206998, made in 1917. This is a big watch, it measures from side to side 61.5 mm. The dial is clean with a couple hairlines, you can see in the pictures. Winds and sets smooth. Offered here is a beautiful and masculine 16sz Hunter Case pocket watch. From the looks of the movement plate style, I would say it was likely made by Cyma although it is unmarked. The watch starts with a hefty, 16 size, gold filled, plain polished case. The case is marked Moon – Trade Mark – A. Dennison Watch Case Co. The inner dust cover reads “English Make – Guaranteed To Be Made Of Two Plates Of 10CT Gold With Plate Of Composition Between And To Wear 20 Years”. The case is in excellent condition showing only mild pocket wear. The polished covers are bright and reflective. The front cover springs open sharply when released and stops just beyond 90 degrees. The back and and dust covers open properly. All hinges are firm and the covers snap shut tight leaving no play or gaps. The crown has remained sharp and the bow is tight. Overall measurements of the watch are 50mm (2″) wide x 72mm (2 7/8″) from the base of the case to the top of the bow x 14mm (9/16) thick. Overall weight of the watch is 113.1 grams (4oz). The front cover opens to reveal a single sunk, champagne colored metal dial with gold Arabic numerals. The dial is very crisp and clean. Blue spade pointers center the dial and a glass crystal protects the dial and is scratch free. The 16sz, Stem Wind and Set, 3/4 plate, 15 jewel, nickel movement features bright fish scale damaskeening throughout and frictions set ruby jewels in gold settings. It is signed “Swiss Made – 15 Jewels”. I would estimate that this piece was made around the 1930′s. The movement is crisp and clean showing only minor service scratches and marks. It winds and sets smooth and is running strong but has not been test for accuracy. Our company is based in the UK. A top frame in a marriage watchcases usually being open only for installing of a movement. That is why we designed our cases with very tightly fit press closing top frame, which made it better moisture proof. To open it first loosen the frame by very lightly hammering a scalpel or any very thin blade into the gap in 2/3 places. It should make a small gap. Than use thinly sharpened back case opener or knife. Be careful not to scratch edges of both top frame and the case body. Our cases are designed to fit most sizes of movements. Nevertheless when installing any movement a slight adjustment of the case is required. For example, depending on the movement, a hole for a stem could be drilled in position 3 or 12 and a hole for a pusher in any appropriate position for a movement. The diameter of movements which can be fitted without any further adjustment to the case is 41.5 mm with a dial diameter of 43 mm. However using a watchmaker’s lathe our cases can be prepared for movements up to 44.5 mm and dials for up to 45 mm. It is worth noting that some movements have superfluous overhangs in the main plate. These could be easily turned, cutting down the diameter of the movement. When preparing antique movements for marriage watches we strongly recommend using a professional watchmaker familiar with the process. Antique William Glover Patinated Case Verge Fusee Pocket Watch. Antique brass and ttshll. Pair-case verge fusee pocket watch, signed by William Glover and made in London circa 1750. The watch is in excellent conservation state and working order. The brass outer case is veneered with real patinated ttshll. With fine vegetal motifs and a butterfly. The inner case is made of gilt brass, with knuckle hinged inner case. The cuvette is engraved for an owner. The long-stemmed pendant with ovoid bow dates to the mid-18th century. There is an undefined logo on the inside of a cover. The dial is white with black Roman numerals, minute ring with Arabic markers every 5 minutes. It includes Beetle & Poker type metal hands. The movement is a verge fusee type, with plates separated by tapered baluster pillars. The vegetal-inspired ornaments are typical of the mid/late 18th century. The bridge is engraved with a faun’s mask, a popular design in the mid-18th century. The plate is hand engraved with the inscription Wm. Glover, London in beautiful cursive script, accompanied by the serial number. It belongs to the watch maker William Glover, who began business before 1750 and went bankrupt in 1756. Precisely because William Gliver was active for such a short time, his watches, today, are very rare and scarce. This beautiful verge fusee watch with double brass and ttshll. We have sent successfully, from fragile items as Chinese Porcelain, to heavy items as Slot Coin Machines, not together into the same box, of course! . We can send almost everything with security, no matter how big or heavy it is, if the client wants to pay the price, because some heavy or big items or delicate items into big boxes are specially expensive to send, not perhaps within Europe, but sometimes to America or Asia and some require custom made packing, as custom made wooden boxes or special foam for transport protection. We work with Selected pieces. All my items are first class collectors items, in excellent conditions , conservation state or/and working conditions. If talking about antique machines, most of them are in perfect working conditions, perfect conservation state or perfectly restored. The few that are not, because it was not possible to repair it, it’s clearly indicated. I like to work with the best pieces that I can find. I prefer to work only with selected pieces. Selected’ doesnt mean’unaffordable’. My pieces have very correct prices, depending on the rarity and the conservation state of the piece itself. Every piece has a price rank, from junk state to museum state, that I consider is the highest one. Selected means that I prefer to work with Museum State pieces, or near, and First Class collectors items, or near rather than other kind of low quality pieces. We guarantee the description and datation of all our pieces. I always give guarantee my descriptions, not only in general antiques, but even in the working condition of an antique machine. Of course, to be completely sincere, its mainly impossible to give a full guarantee in the working condition of an antique working machine with over or more than 100 years. Many things can happen inside an antique mechanism and todays perfectly working spring, could be the futures failure as far away as in ten years or as near as the next month. If necessary, we restore and/or repair and finally clean and/or adjust, all our antique machines, and if its there’s a defect or malfunctions, its clearly indicated in the description, video or pictures. We try to have all our pieces in perfect working conditions, but if a disaster occurs and the item gets out of order or damaged, for any reason, we can help to solve the problem or to help to repair it or to restore it. We work with first class professionals that can restore from antique medieval paintings to 13th Century silver, other metals as iron, copper and bronze, to any kind of wood. Also, we can repair antique machines as gramophones, antique clocks, typewriters and antique mechanical calculators. Our Priority is your satisfaction.
