Please note that the price is firm. If gold makes a quick positive jump, I will likewise just end this listing and scrap the case. Incredible, large, heavy Systeme Glashutte 14K solid gold hunting case pocket watch. Case diameter is 55.5 mm and total weight of the watch is 122.4 grams. The case has been electronically tested and acid tested (touchstone method) in about 5 locations and confirmed as 14k purity via both testing methods. It is also marked 0.585 with other hallmarks, on the front cover, back cover, and cuvette (inner dust cover on back). This is a clean, very presentable watch in good working order and keeping good time. However, it does have some dents and blemishes on the case. There are some light wavy type dents on the case covers. Some of the photos of the outside of the watch show some dark reflections that incorrectly appear like blemishes or dents, but they are not. I tried my best to photo the watch, but could not avoid these reflections. The sides of the case have some dents and dings, most notably one that is close to a cm perhaps, and has a fine split/crack on the top. I tried my best to show this in photo #7. I have not polished or cleaned the watch in any way. The dial is perfect, no visible chips or cracks. There are a couple light specks of dirt and a tiny piece of fuzz/lint floating around under the crystal, but they are not blemishes. I did not remove these little pieces of debris because I feared I might crack the crystal if I attempted to remove the bezel and later put in back in place. There is also a crystal over the movement on the rear side of the watch. Both crystals are glass (not plastic) and very thin, of course. There is some wear on the bow/bail, obviously from a chain that would have been attached some time in the past. The watch is running strong. Starts right up when you start winding it up. I do not know any service history of the watch, since I just recently acquired it. I have not tried to remove the crystals and disassemble the watch in order to weigh the case, and I will not do so. I fear that attempting to do so may lead to breaking the crystals.
