Please check out my other listings for more rare pocket watches being listed. This listing is for a J. Stevens 18 size hunter case pocket watch. Movement made by Aurora. Dial is marked J. Movement is marked J. Stevens and Bro, Atlanta, Ga, 140228. Watch is running and keeping time. Case is 54 mm diameter. The watch is stem wind and lever set. When I say it’s keeping time…. I wound it and let it run for 24 hours or more, mostly face up, but I did make sure it was face down for shorter periods also. I did a rough setting of time, probably within a minute or two, and let it run for 24 hours and it was still within a minute or two. This was rough testing and they were not set to the exact second, so it may be off by 2 seconds a day, maybe 2 minutes a day. All of these pocket watches are in the state I found them. I did not make any effort to lubricate, clean the dial/crystal, polish case, or anything similar. You might see specks of dirt on the dial or crystal. Some have faint hairlines. Some have tiny dings or scratches or tiny chips on the crystal. Please rely on the photos to assess the overall condition. I just recently acquired these 2 days ago and I do not know any service history. That being said, any watch may have possible been lubricated a week ago, or may have never been serviced at all. I simply do not know any history. All cases close properly unless stated otherwise, meaning the covers screw on or snap on well, front covers of hunter case watches close and spring open as they should, etc. Gold filled cases may have minor spots of brassing. This pocket watch was made in about 1923. It is in good running order and keeping time. The watch is in a seemingly original. 14k Roy hunter case #397336, in good condition with no dents. The covers open and close properly. It has a somewhat worn engraved monogram on one cover. The watch has a seemingly original fancy, embossed metal dial with black Arabic numerals and a sub-seconds dial. The dial is in good condition. The watch has black open cathedral hands, in good condition. The plastic crystal is in excellent condition. 12-size, about 46mm in diameter. It weighs 68.8 grams. The watch is stem wound and stem set. Model 6 23-jewel, double roller, motor barrel nickel movement, adjusted to 6 positions, serial #4,395,483. Losely resembles a 16-size Sangamo Special. It is housed in an 14K solid gold case which has been tested and is guaranteed. We have no idea why such a great piece is not stamped or marked. The multicolor gold in amazing featuring a jockey and horse. The hunting case is 50.4 mm diameter and 74 mm with the bow. The total weight is a 128.3 grams. The movement is under a glass exibition bezel. There is a monogram on the back of the case. The movement is running but has not been checked for time keeping accuracy. We do not guarantee the time keeping of this movement. Since we do not know the service history of these time pieces, we recommend that they be serviced. Offered for sale is an antique American Watch Co. (Waltham, Massachusetts, USA) pocket watch, ca. This is a 18-size watch, and measures approximately 53mm diameter. This watch features a solid 18K Gold full hunting case with a hinged bezel, a 15-jewel model #1857 full-plate Appleton Tracy key wind and key set movement, and a single sunk porcelain dial with Roman numeral hour markers and blue steel fleur-de-lis hands. The case is engine turned and also has beautiful intricate hand engraved floral designs on both the case front and back. The case is in very good condition, showing signs of normal pocket carry. The engine turned pattern is slightly worn around the edges, and there is a minor dent on the caseback. There are initials lightly engraved in the cartouche on the front. The entire watch weighs 4.2 troy ounces, and the 18K gold case alone weighs 2.4 troy ounces. The dial is in excellent condition. The movement runs and keeps excellent time.
