Raymond Rail Road pocket watch. This watch was made in 1894. It runs great and keeps very good time. This watch has a lovely original movement and is in a beautifully decorated gold filled Hunter’s case! Movement : The watch is in very good running condition and it keeps very good time. The Rail Road grade movement is all original with 15 jewels, adjusted. Dial : The original double sunk dial is in very good condition, with just a few light hairlines. The hands are also original. Case : The lovely gold filled Hunter’s case is also in very good condition. The case is beautifully decorated and has the original paper label. It shows very little wear but has a dent on the edge. It has a good lift spring and the covers work like they should, although when closed the front lid has a slight gap. This is a beautiful pocket watch! Beautiful late XVII verge fusee alarm watch. Relatively small balance bridge with characteristic design from first years of invention balance spring by Huygens in late 1670s. Closer to 1700s balance bridges became bigger, with more elaborated decoration. Pierre Mestral was Genevan watchmaker. Patrizzi in “Dictionnaire des Horlogers Genevois” mentions that he trained other known watchmaker Francois Baveau in 1667. This beautiful watch has follows distinct features: – single hour hand and rotating alarm disk – early small balance bridge and balance spring with very few coils – beautiful blued steel arabesques on bottom plate – skilfully made inner case with nice engraving – pierced and engraved barrel There is some minor flaws. The outer case though fits ok is most likely not original, as cases for striking watches mostly has holes for better sound. Outer case has some minor cracks and dents. Inner case seems to be in good condition with common wear. The balance bridge has been slightly cut from inner side. The rack of hairspring regulator is missing The stopwork of alarm’s barrel is decorative, doesn’t really limits number of turns. The movement is in working condition – the watch ticks (though I don’t guarantee it keeps time). Alarm is functioning, please look video below the photo. Diameter of outer case is 55mm, inner is 46mm. Total height without bow is 60mm, total thickness – 31mm. Weight is 156 grams.. Beautiful watch, don’t miss it. For your consideration is this original antique Elgin pocket watch in 18K gold case. Made in 1887, Model 1, Class 52, Size 8, 11 Jewels, Lever Set, 3/4 plate. Full hunter case with fancy engraving. Co with an 18 marking, along with a pseudo eagle hallmark. Very fine case and easily flexible. Fine engraving on both sides, the front has the name IDA in a shield. There is a tarnish on the front, it looks like a price tag had been affixed to that spot and the color is different from the rest. The back side is finely engraved and in excellent condition. The dial is marked Jacot Geneve and is heavily engraved with a bird at the center. The crystal is clear and all hands are present. The watch winds easily and does run, but seems to want to stop when moved around. It will likely need some small adjustments to be a nice runner. Including the movement, the watch weighs 56.7g on my gram scale. A great antique watch to add to any collection! This will be an excellent chance to own some rare and desirable items. 18 size 17 jewel open face lever-set Grade 938 pocketwatch. Scarce and beautifully finished high grade movement with gold jewel settings, gold balance screws, mirror finish steelwork, and a terrific fancy nickel damaskeen. Watch is fronted by a double-sunk enamel dial with early style script signature and is housed in an attractive Wadsworth permanent quality gold-filled case with multicolor overlay on the rear. Movement serial number is 10573. Running and a beautiful movement with excellent color and luster. Dial has hairlines in its outer chapter, a small edge chip at the lever-set area, and some flaking to the inner rim of the outer chapter between 10 and 11 O’clock. Case is attractive with a good in hand look and feel but has some wear to brass on the pendent and also in thin strips around the sides. Bow is worn to brass over nearly all of its surface.
