Beautiful enamel porcelain face, movement delicately machined, set in an skeleton pocket watch case. As for the case there is crown/winder, time set with a lever is on the side. At the top 12 o’clock position, there is a faux or dummy crown/ bale. The dummy crown/bale looks gold filled. The case body looks like gold, tested glass back metal edge, failed 18k, passed 14k and 10k test, gold plated? Case is not marked. Beautiful watch and case, keeps good time. Marked on front, A. We only sell 100% AUTHENTIC items. Both front and back sides of the case are fully adorned with enamel, with the front having the entire portrait and the back covered in blue monochrome enamel. The portrait also has three small diamonds. Ring around the center enamel sections is also covered in filler black line enameling, this pocket watch is just gorgeous with all this artwork. The movement used is a regular key wind/set Swiss bar lever caliber. The hunting case has no solid gold mark so most likely it’s gold filled. Condition-wise the watch DOES NOT RUN but the balance is good (and very gummy/dirty). It will run fine after clean/oil/adjust. Cosmetically the enamel is superb with no chips or losses even to the edges for both front and back plates. Even the black filler enamel lines are fully intact. Bezel is missing and dial has some crack/chip. The case has a few dents along the case band. Nice mid-XVIII verge fusee pocket watch. Made by William Lloyd, London and bears serial number 2489. London hallmarks date inner case to 1766. Baille’s book mention watchmaker William Lloyd at London c. Outer case is made in repousse technique and decorated with most probable “The Continence of Scipio” scene. Movement is typical verge British movement of mid-XVIII. It features nice pierced and engraved balance cock, steel balance wheel, square baluster pillars, barrel with worm. Movement is in working condition. The dial seems to be in nice condition without visible flaws. Nice original hands, bull eye glass. Both cases has minor traces of soldering, but seems to be in decent condition, without wholes. Exception is the outer case opening button, but it works as it should. Outer case diameter is 50mm, height is 57mm, thickness is 27mm. Weight is 86 grams. The Continence of Scipio , is an episode recounted by Livy of the Roman general Scipio Africanus during his campaign in Spain during the Second Punic War. He refused a generous ransom for a young female prisoner, returning her to her fiance Allucius, who in return became a supporter of Rome. Today I have for sale an extremely nice example of the Bunn Special model 163 with in exceptionally nice condition. The dial is the highly desirable marked version which is in absolutely perfect condition. Usually these dials have hairlines or chips but this one is absolutely flawless. The case is a model 173 and it is also in spectacular condition. There is almost no noticeable wear at all and no dents. The beautiful engraving on the back is still nice and crisp. The only thing you can notice on the case is slight wearing of the gold filling around the crown which is very minor. The movement is beautiful and super clean. It is running well and keeping time. This is one of the nicest examples I have ever seen of one of the best railroad watches from the time period. Please let me know if you have any questions. Presented is a nice example of the Hamilton Railroad grade 992B in its original scarce Model 3 tu tone case, with its original single sunk dial and great running high grade movement. The lever set open face movement is a 16′s with 21 jewels, featuring nice bright nickle straight lined damaskeened plates with black lettering, Elinvar Balance with great motion, and gold jewel settings. It was cleaned just a couple of weeks ago and runs great. It is marked Hamilton Watch Co. USA 992B 21 Jewels Adj. And 6 Positions and bears the serial number C225922. Virtually no rust except for the main winding wheel and a touch on the regulator spring, and that’s it. The very scarce Model 3 case (I always thought it was a Model 2 that was offered in a tu tone) is cosmetically in very nice condition with no dents or dings and the only things I can pick at is a small amount of light wearthru on the body and a touch on the bow. The bezels screw off just fine but can be a tad tricky at times (though once you get the hang of it, with a light touch and starting it straight they work fine). It is marked on the bottom body “W 10K Gold Filled” and on the inside “Wadsworth Base Metal”. The original Boxcar single sunk enamel dial is in nice condition with no issues that I can find and is signed “Hamilton” in block. Very nice original black steel hands.
