This is a unique 992 housed in a Hamilton Original Salesman Display case. A nice way to retain originality while showing off the gorgeous 992 movement. These cases would have been intended for. Salmon to show the movements for sale. The movement has been serviced and it is keeping excellent time. Original double sunk dial with heat blued hands. The dial has a few inclusions as shown but presents well. Some light wear on the case. I wanted to note that the front and back bezel on this case are not threaded and need to be pried off with a knife to remove bezels. Overall, a gorgeous watch which makes an excellent conversation starter. If you are purchasing a watch band or part, it is your responsibility to ensure that the sizing is correct for your watch. This is a nice antique mens timepiece from a local estate. It is 18 size, open face, stem wind and set, grade 44, model 5, Elgin, G. Wheeler model, 15 jewels. Serial #2117404 dates it to 1887. The movement is very nice and runs strong. It has not been cleaned or serviced, so I cannot guarantee it to be a perfectly reliable timekeeper. The porcelain dial is very good, with a fine hairline. The display back case is nickel, with a snap on bezel on each side, and a glass crystal. This is an original display case, and not one that was made from a regular case. The bezels are un-marked. Hamilton Pocket watch in a salesmen display case. This case is nice with thick glass crystals on both sides and both bezels snap on nice and tight with no gaps, no dings or dents. The movement is 17 jewel lever set 18 size movement that is running strong but the dial has cracks/ The serial number of the movement is 618,063 so the book says made in 1907. The case measures 52 mm side to side. Nice easy to read the Hamilton on the case bezels. Thank you for looking.
