50mm (5cm) across case without crown. A stunning gold filled full hunter. The case is a Dennison STAR 10 year guaranteed (from date of manufacture) each part is made from 2 plates of gold with a plate of composition between them, vastly superior to electroplating which only deposits a very thin layer of gold. Good condition case, very clean and bright throughout, all hinges are good, all covers open and close well. Front cover pops open with a depression of the crown, as it should. Front and rear covers open to 90 degrees. Fantastic condition case, No major scratches, some slight mottle colouring inside the case covers (does not look bad). The double sunk dial is bright and clean, no hairline cracks or chips, signed “Waltham”. Roman Numerals, blued steel hands. The movement is a Waltham 17 Jewel model 1899 P. Bartlett dating to 1903, damascened, gold adjuster star, running well and keeps good time. Good acrylic crystal in great condition. Complete with antique rolled gold graduated Albert chain. Presented in a fitted velvet pocket watch box and velvet pouch for chain. Great for wedding, graduation, retirement, Christmas, Fathers day or birthday present. Recently Fully Serviced, including modern alloy “unbreakable” mainspring. Servicing is defined as the piece being disassembled, cleaned, inspected and adjusted if necessary. It is then re-assembled and correctly oiled, timed for accuracy and adjusted if required. The mainspring will be replaced with a modern alloy type and the piece will be bench-tested for at least one day. I restore all of my watches to a fully working condition. It is my aim to provide a watch that is not only running but working to a usable state. My watches can be worn and used for their intended purpose on a daily basis. Up for your consideration is this 1873 American Watch Company full hunter key-winding pocket watch with Coin Silver case. Watch is in working condition and keeps time. I did not check watch for more than a 8 hour period, but during that time watch kept good time. Watch enamel face is in good condition for its age and the case has the expected minor dings/scuffs/wear marks from use as seen in the photographs. Beautiful Illinois Pocket Watch, with an intricate case made on Illinois behalf by Crescent Watch Company (C. W. C. Co). Were known for their claim of adding more gold than their competitors to their gold filled cases. This watch is heavy and weighs 102g. The case closes very neatly and tight, as though it has not seen much use. There is an intricate black etching around the edges of the case. One side of the watch is discolored but is less noticeable than in the photos. The movement is not working (unsure why not). The dial is missing (well there is a replacement plastic one, but I don’t like it and took it off).
