The Cartouche on the back has evidence of wear or repair. The crystal is fine as is the dial with no obvious blemishes. A fine watch for your collection. These cases with lever on the left side are very hard to find. There is lever cut on the case for lever set movements. NOTE: Although there is lever cut, the cut may not fit your movement. 1887 Elgin Pocket Watch 17 Jewels w/ Hunter VICTORY Case. There are a couple of fine lines on the dial. I’m not sure how to pull out the pin to move the hands by hand but it’s ticking away and all hands are moving. Victory case, Philadelphia watch Company, warranted 10 years number 4187248. Elgin serial number 2342794 outer edge numbers are 04187248 adjusted safety pinion. Serial number, states production year of 1887 with a production of 5000. Very nice old watch not sure of the material? Looks gold or gold, but there are no marks.
